What are sandy shores based on?

I am pretty stuck on this one. It's either Bombay beach or Desert shores. Here are reasons why. 

 

Bombay Beach:

Has that antenna, Sky inn is that bar near Zancudo ave and represents it the most. 

 

Desert Shores:

 

Closest name, GtaWiki says it's based on this, approximately the samd size.

This video states that it's based on Bombay beach, you can compare and see if it looks like Sandy Shores in game.

Sandy is actually a combination of several places around the Salton Sea. The gas station, fire station and a few roads are from Desert Shores. The boat house, motel, liquor ace and a few more roads are from the North Shore. General road layout (grid pattern) is from Bombay Beach. The Ski Inn at Bombay influenced the shape of the Yellowjack Inn and the building next to Trevor's trailer. I've researched all of this stuff as I will be headed that way in April to see all of it.

Can't vouch for it's reliability myself, perhaps a local may give a better understanding on this.
