Hannibal
I'm sure that this type of thread has been repeated man times but as a consumer who was burned with the debacle that was GTA3 PC will Rockstar ensure this time around that Vice City will actually work? System Specs: XP 1700+ 512MB DDR RAM Radeon 9500pro The above specs are what it took to get GTA running to an acceptable limit, hopefully the "enhanced" pc version of vice city will run a little better. Anyone any thoughts?
Paulie
I doubt you will have any problems. Maybe because I have almost same system . Trust me, it will work fine.
hunter2112
It was on my old roommate's PC but we ran GTA3 with only minimal lag (usually when there was a lot happening on screen and it was raining in Liberty) and the specs were: Ahlon 1200 256MB DDR 20GB 7200 rpm 64MB Geforce2 Generally though the game ran almost as smooth as the PS2 version. I'm hoping that it will run VC as well but if not, time for a couple upgrades I s'pose.
Johnny The Homicidal Maniac
I've got the exact same one...except I've got a Geforce 3 128 MB Ram so I'm crossing my fingers too
Hurricane5
Well, I have been working for the past month to get some $$ for some upgrades, and heres where I've gotten. Pentium 4 1.5GHz 1024 DDR Ram 40 GiG 7200 RPM HD Radeon 9100 Pro 128MB DDR I wished I could have got an nVidia, but, I got a great deal on the 9100 Pro. It runs GTA3 like a dream, now I have my fingers crossed its enough to run Vice City without any lagging, low FPS or the jerky frames that once plauged me in GTA3
Hannibal
Hurricane, your system is similar to my own. If I was you I would have gone for 512 MB RAM and a radeon 9500pro (very fast card for its price, nvidia have nothing to match it). Regards. darknyt6
I ran GTAIII great in 1024x768 with every detail turned on. I was running it on a lowly: 850 t-bird geforce 3 ti200 64 mb 288 sdram. This, unfortunately, is the same system I have now, so I don't plan on picking Vice City up till I upgrade . . . Which happily will be only 2 weeks after it comes out! (I MUST finish my final class for my Masters before I get this game or I WILL fail! ) The system I'm gonna run it on will be: XP 2800+ Asus A7N8X Deluxe, rev. 2.0 512 or 1 GIG Mushkin 2:2:2 DDR 2700(haven't decided on size) ATI 9700 PRO Antec Smart Blue 480 (internal blue led, dual fan) 120gb WD w/8mb cache 16x/48x Black DVD 52x/24x/52x Black CD-RW Burner Black Case with X windowand 7 opt. fans(4 frt, 2 back, 1 side) Logitech Z-680 450W 5.1 Dolby Digital Speaker System 2 blue cold cathodes and a pretty little blue 256mb lexar keychain flash drive for moving files to and from my work T1 line. Life will be good then - I can't wait. If that system can't run VC flawlessly, nothing will.
