You do get the consolation of the car handling, views of the city and radio being enjoyable but the races themselves are very bad. Far too easy and excruciatingly repetitive, I don't know why they thought having to do like 5 identical laps was a better idea than just making the routes longer. Only thing I can think of that's done worst in IV.  Bike races in TLAD with Road Rash style knocking people off their bikes with baseball bats are a great improvement though. iiCriminnaaL
Basically any occupational side-mission. Vigilante wasn't bad, though, and it was vastly improved in GTA IV, and properly introduced too. Collectibles, in every GTA title. They're just tedious and frustrating. I'd really like to see them replaced with more criminal action-packed missions such as illegal street races, drug deliveries, assassinations, gang warfare, drug wars, and whatnot. DR Cherry Bomb
Air Rescue from GTA Vice City Stories. Worse than the 3D universe's Taxi, Paramedic, Firefighter, Vigilante missions combined. It's just a more tedious, unnecessary copy-paste of the Paramedic missions, which were tedious to an extent as well, but it doesn't come close to Air Rescue. Not even in the slightest bit. It's a waste of three-four hours just driving from point A to point B and then coming back to point A again, in a plane too. Why even add it in the first f###ing place anyway when we already have Paramedic which is already a pain in the arse?
universetwisters
The Triathlons were pretty sh*tty in V. Why would I swim, sprint, and ride a bike for half an hour in realtime for no reward? NightmanCometh96, LegitimatePride and B Dawg
Copcaller
Any of the side missions from V tedious with sh*t rewards. Tycek and Lioshenka
Lioshenka
GTA 5 takes the first place, hands down. Followed by the others far, far behind.  - Collecting the Monkey Puzzle (worst possible locations that have no significance to them, all in an ugly city) - Collecting the nuclear waste (plain boring) - Storming the cannibal camp (only because it's easy to make this mission impossible to pass unless you know about it from the start) - Stunt jumps (boring and all the same, also car often blows up) - Races. Little to no replay value, no variety in them.  Then GTA 4 - Bloody pigeons. Too small to see and find.  SA: - Cesar's drug dealer missions. Good concept, but too repetitive and often too far from the player to engage.  III - Paramedic, police and firefighter - because of the shotguns and also minor bugs that make you fail   Edited June 9 by Lioshenka Ondr4H, jazzbone and NightmanCometh96 2
NightmanCometh96
Air Rescue in VCS, while not "hard", is just a miserable slog to get through. You're telling me that the already tedious Paramedic missions have now been combined with a slow helicopter? Sounds like a match made in heaven! During my first 100% run, I ended up transferring my save to my PC so I could use PPSSPP's fast forward toggle to get through it more quickly; it's that bad.  The same could be said for the Civil Asset Forfeiture Impound in the same game, particularly the fact that you have to drive painfully slow boats halfway across the map to complete a good chunk of the watercraft list. Ondr4H
Worst side missions are Epsilon one, they are cringe, takes a lot of times, that one when I walk in desert makes me rage quit, because after 4,5 miles I get abducted after looking on abandoned vehicle. Â But they pays at the end 2 millions dollars, which is really a lot considering charity that GTA V missions are.

Evil empire
The burglaries in GTA San Andreas are boring and repetitive since the interiors are all the same. I completed it about 12 years ago and never did it again.
Grov71
monkey mosaics in gta v are very hard to notice and collect and you dont get the full reward if you're not a returning player jazzbone
Madd Slayer
Taxi Missions in all 3D games. Atleast the collectibles and other side missions have good rewards (something which the HD games lacks). Meanwhile Taxi Driver gives you lame rewards like a "special cabby", Nitro & the jumping ability. Â
Ehrmantraut
Unlike most in this thread, I really like vehicle sidemissions, specially Taxi Driver, though I dislike IV and V's implementations of the mission. I also think Towing in V is pretty mediocre. Â Nothing beats collectibles though. One of the reasons why I dislike GTA V is due to how many filler, boring collectibles sets there are in this game. The worst collectible in the series though gotta be Flying Rats for the same reasons already mentioned in this thread. Â Tags in SA wouldn't be so boring if they had implemented in the same way they did in Bully and The Warriors. Krooked_
The Paramedic, Vigilante and Firefighter missions in the 3D era - grindy, dull and frustrating if you mess up. At least the rewards were nice - more health and armor, infinite sprint and becoming fireproof. Pistol Bobcat
Unique Stunts in both IV and V, they utterly took the fun and joy out of stunts in these games, especially the former given how unforgiving the bike handling is in Vanilla IV.) Â Flying rats. Do I need to elaborate lol? Â Chilliad Challenge. Especially if you were doing a starter save and have low cycling stats this was a pain. Â Vigilante in San Andreas without a Hunter: Separates the men from the boys. Â Jump and Stoppie challenge at Bike School: Always takes more than a dozen attempts.
