Standalone GTA Online Launching on PS5 in 2021

I believe all the people hoping for new maps, animals, etc are going to be really pissed off when this drops. It will just be the current PC version with some new clothes and other nonsense.  
 

Seems to me that they just want to make Online a separate entity so folks won’t start with nothing once an actual new game/map is released. 
 

I am foolishly hoping they put the standalone version on an actual server and implement real anti cheat measures. I fully expect to be disappointed though.

Free backwards compatibility would've been fine, expected even. But this is shameless.

I mean ok it's possible that it can happen, but in 2021 and using the brand new tech from next gen hardware and the latest highest PC specs available, it would be WAY TOO f*ckING STUPID OF THEM TO INSIST WITH THOSE sh*tTY PEER-TO-PEER CONNECTIONS.

 

For real, if they can't even be arsed to implement dedicated servers which is the bare bones of any online-only videogame nowadays, then they must be called out on their laziness.

 

 

Side note: This also pretty much confirms to me that current gen is NOT getting a new GTA.

 

All of this is infuriating, to say the least.

F2P can get away with alot of stuff. No-one can complain when they got/can get the game for free.

 

On a side note, what if we get an RDR2/RDO announcement at the Xbox event?

Let's just get positive for a moment.

 

Firstly, there will be less kids like it was in the early PS4 days.

Secondly, could we get more people in each session?

Thirdly, less frame drops and stuttering when the poop hits the breeze maker in game. Fourthly, less or no cheats being used.

Fifthly we could get the graphics we were promised in 2012.

 

So come on guys, let's not spit the dummy out with the bath water or whatever. I'm sure there will be those who will be traiding in their ps4s for the ps5.

But we don't, do we? Unless you have another article I have not read the only article we have states that a standalone version is coming in the latter half of 2021. The article is badly worded and can mean many things. People need to stop jumping to conclusions until we get confirmation.

Yeah but for how long though? Current gen was running incredibly smoothly back in 2014 and even 2015.

What you mean, glitches? Because I bet 1 dollar with you right here that the game will have tons of glitches and exploits ready to be taken advantage of at launch and a few years into the game's life. 

 

In fact, I bet the heist repeat exploit, along with countless god mode exploits will still be there...it's the same game under some new clothes just like the current gen release is compared to last gen, after all.

If you know me, you know I've been here for the hype, the launch, the beginning of DLC, all of that. I don't think I've been more disinterested. It's just becoming an old tired ass game, the casino update was great. What else do they need to do? Move on already. It literally is becoming nothing more than money. This game is surviving because morons with no sense of money are buying overpriced shark cards to waste on 2 cars and then be broke again.

You'll probably have to purchase a GTAO game license after those first 3 months to continue playing, but you get free access to the expanded and enhanced version of the story mode game, included with that license.

I think if you “ purchase “ your free version within the first three months you get to keep it, but if you pass up that three month offer then you have to actually purchase it. Just like any free PlayStation plus game
