Standalone GTA Online Launching on PS5 in 2021

Rockstar has the opportunity to revise the standalone version to make it balanced, fix long standing issues, implement features that were cut or not done well, and of course take advantage of it being a standalone game and add in features that wouldn't be feasible right now. But will they? I'd be surprised.

No. I ain't paying $60 for a game released eight years ago by that time. If anything I'll have one of my older PlayStation friends log in on my behalf on their ps5 to claim the free one for me since I won't be buying one before then.

I'd assume you have three months to claim it for free and after that it carries a price tag. I don't think it's going to a subscription model after those three months since it would be beyond scummy to start charging a monthly subscription fee for an eight year old broken game. Surely that won't be well received and considering the overwhelming negative video ratings for the "next gen re-re-release", a subscription fee will only piss off even more of their long time fans.

Yes it will be three months to claim the game for free on PS5 and then I presume R* will charge the full price for getting it on PS5.

 

Only reason I will get GTA Online stand alone is the fact we are getting this three month free period to purchase it, otherwise as I said before I wouldn't be paying R* to get this or GTA V again.

The way its worded and looking at how we had to buy the previous re-release too, i'd say its to be considered a full-fledged demo, you get 3 months of access, but if you want to keep playing after that you have to buy the game. Its a two-fold trick, they (a) help Sony sell more PS5's and (b) make it so that a portion of the playerbase will tell the rest of the playerbase "yeah man this was totally worth spending money on again" (which they are also a lot more likely to say when they bought a console for it, they will want to justify that purchase) its also why im 99.9% sure that the PC release will not happen in those first 3 months, they dont want everybody bitching at cheaters on PC to ruin the chances of the re-re-release.

I can, but honestly i'd be kinda surprised if they'd try sell it again on PC, for the PS5 re-re-release at least it can be sorta justified, but selling the same game for the same platform is going to be an uphill battle, they might just shrug it off and bring this enhanced version as a free update for PC, PC has been the biggest portion of the playerbase/has the most shark card sales anyway.

That isn't how I read it at all, not saying they won't go down that route, could well happen but we will have to see what they decide when the game actually comes out standalone.

 

If it does turn out to only be 3 months free, well I'll only be back for the free months...like I've said multiple times, ain't paying again...

Just let it die already and focus on gta 6 with a new online mode that uses dedicated servers...

My greatest fear in life is I won't be able to run GTA 6 Online next gen, this is my PC specs and I am deeply troubled by my CPU I just hope it runs GTA 6 online and I am good till I die.

 

16GB DDR 3 Ram 1333mhz

Core i5 4590 @ 3.5ghz all cores

RX 590 8GB

 

My country has been destroyed by Covid, I lost my credit card and will never get one again, no job and just doom and gloom on the horizon for many many years to come maybe decades

 

I have a PC with a pretty solid Asus motherboard that could probably last a lifetime .

 

My biggest concern is this quad core CPU and the fact that GTA 6 will never work properly on it to get me 50 FPS.

 

This is my greatest fear in life, if I could get 50 FPS minimum in GTA 6 Online I would be good.

 

Please note I don't play single player games I am only worried about GTA 6 Online not running

 

I would however be totally cool if GTA online stand alone coming next year had a graphic overhaul tho. Like new Texture details etc or different female body types like Red Dead Online

GTA 6 ain't coming out in another 43 years, so no need to worry for now.

It will become like how Warzone is technically Modern Warfare 2019, but with the Multiplayer, Campaign and Spec Ops disabled/not installed?

Yes, they will be able to. The Series S is meant to be the more affordable option in terms of next gen hardware. It will likely run GTA Online at 1080/1440p at 60fps, where as the series X will likely target 4k 60fps.

Good to know, I was not sure if Series S is next gen as well or rather an upgrade of the current gen, if GTA VI will be released within the next generation, is it likely to run on Series S as well just with less detail and performance?
