Sniper scope?

So, I have a scope on each of my rifles and repeaters.  I don't use the one on the repeater all that often, but I like to have it there, just in case.

 

One thing I keep having an issue with is that I'll draw the repeater in an ambush or something, aim and find I'm in scoped mode.  In the time it takes to switch back and figure out where I'm looking, I can be dead.

 

Ideally, I'd love for the scoped mode to turn off once I put the weapon away so that when drawn it defaults to the normal mode... but stays in scoped mode until it's actually put away (on my back or horse).  Anyone know if there's a setting that would allow that?  I've looked, but didn't see anything... did I miss it?
