Questions for safe games

Hello everyone!

 

So since school ended, I decided to play GTA Vice City, and complete it 100%, but that doesn't matter right now. Now I had some issues with mouse so I set my GTA VC compability to Windows 98 / Windows Me. That I guess fixed bug, anyways, I completed it finaly with 100%, but now I wanted to find my safe game locations . Anyways I go to my documets, and then Grand Theft Auto User Files, but I could only find SET file ( gta_vc ). Later I went to this forum and found my issue ( Problem 29, for PC ) . Now this is part about my question. So I go to Public / Public Downloads  / GTA Vice City User Files:

1) Are those my safegame files? https://imgur.com/a/hNxh8tU

2) Should / Can I put them in Documents / GTA Vice City User Files ( Where for most users are )? https://imgur.com/a/E44Hryo

Yep, your save games are in the first picture. The gta_vc.set are your settings and the other files you see are the saves. The numbers in the end of the names match the number of the save slot. As for your last question, you can't move them. I was surprised too but seemingly GTA VC prefers the public documents folder.

For the mouse bug, first remove the compatibility settings from gta-vc.exe > download Silent Patch> extract this inside GTA VC Folder. 

 

Windows 98/ Windows Me causes the save files to use this location : Public / Public Documents / GTA Vice City User Files

 

Now since, you remove the compatibility mod, the save files should use Documents / GTA Vice City User Files  (i.e the default location)

 

Now you can can put your saves from Public / Public Downloads / GTA Vice City User Files to Documents / GTA Vice City User Files
