GTA 6: would you buy it on disk or on digital?

GTA 6 has not been announced yet but it doesn't stop me from posting this topic

When GTA 6 Does release would you buy it on disk or would you buy it as a digital copy? And Why?

To start off I would probably buy it on disk because you get a paper map of the game which obviously wouldn't come with digital copies of the game

I'm going to buy it as a digital copy.  You know it's going to have a large day one patch so why not just download the whole thing instead of hoping amazon doesn't mess up the release day shipping.

I'd be one of those who actually camps out to get it rather than order it on amazon

I've obviously been buying digital on PC for basically ever at this point but these days I'm entirely digital on console too. The convenience is too nice, pre-loads, midnight launches, not having to go to a store / wait for the mailman, not having to change discs. Plus with stuff on the new consoles like the Xbox's quick change system I imagine that'll work best if you own the game digitally with no disc changing.

Most definitely digital, all of the reasons above Jason mentioned. Although yae can’t beat the good ole smell of a manual straight out of a physical copy ;))

A physical copy for sure. As much as it seems like an inconvenience to most people, I love being at a packed store for a midnight release. Actually seeing the same excitment for the game in other peoples eyes, and the explosive roar when the clock hits midnight and the employees crack open the boxes... Such a great experience.

Semi off-topic: I remember going to my towns EB Games (Australian Gamestop) for the midnight release of GTA V. The store held a graffiti competition, where you pretty much had to "tag up" a white board and the person with the best graffiti art got their copy of the game first. To this day I'm still pissed my almost one-to-one "Grove 4 Life" tag lost to a stick figure doing a drive by.

The only reason I am not going for physical is that I don't have an optical drive in my PC. Otherwise I guess I would go for that just because that is rarer and you get some physical reminder of your game. Especially if later you could activate your physical copy on Steam and then don't have to worry about the disk not getting read.

These days I buy my games digitally so I can play the games on day one of release. Only problem is next-gen games are going to be double the size and it's not exactly the best thing to download large files with a data cap.

physical copy. I just love the feeling of opening a physical copy when the mailman posts it. Also, if anything happens to my xbox account it's always good to have a physical copy.

Oh and you can always sell physical copies and I like to watch reviews before I play the game

I like Rockstar cover style and also the map that comes with the game, so I go with physical. I can wait for a few days if the mailman messes up the delivery.

Physical. Digital copies are just... boring. You don't get any goodies like the travel guides and maps

I buy relics only in physical edition: RDR2, GTA6, Witcher, Uncharted, Last of Us etc. The rest is in digital copies.

I doubt I'll buy GTA 6, but if I do I will only buy it in a disc format. I was really contemplating buying RDR 2 after all these positive reviews, until I realised that there is no disc there. What the hell am I suppose to fork out 60 quid for?!

With a disc not only you can find a much better deal a year after the game's release, but there's also a joy of waiting for the knock of the postman, unwrapping and popping the disc into the game. Sadly, GTA SA seems to be the only one with a proper map guide, but that would be another thing I would like to get with my copy.

I'm always torn with this. Digital is just so easy and convenient, install, click and play, no bother with disc changing etc. However, I do like maps and those kinds of goodies included with physical. It's annoying that digital is just as (if not more) expensive as physical but you get none of that stuff. I usually always get R* stuff in physical.

I'll never forget the day I got my RDR2 special edition for PS4, there is nothing better than opening a new Rockstar game after waiting for so long and finally having it in your hands.

I'm picking up the collector's edition at midnight along with the strategy guide and savoring each moment. There's no better feeling than driving home with a brand new game man.

Digital, cause China is delaying development and cause Trump sucks.

I'll have it on disk, no doubts about it.

I like to see the map on paper and all the details in the box

Digital. It's more convenient and the only upside of a physical copy is a map I'll never really have any use for.

Physical. I enjoy the map, booklet, and all the other stuff that comes with the game. I enjoy sniffing the box, the disc, and the map for the first time. That nice new game smell. Going to the midnight well 9pm launches now are also fun.

The very reason why I get one of each. Digital, because that's how games are going. And the convenience of it. But then a physical copy for a different platform, just for the map and physical collectable.
