Halftrack question

My wife won the halftrack on the lucky wheel. Are there any bugs or glitches when upgrading to the top armor and weapons?

I know some vehicles had issues with the most expensive upgrades.

Don't upgrade the armor plating; it only prevents you from throwing explosives and/or firing handguns but doesn't offer any additional protection.

 

The upgraded gun is better: it deals more damage and protects the gunner better. It does require bunker research though. The only downside is that the firing pattern of the quad gun is obviously spread out more, but that will become negligible with experience.

The only bug i know of is when you get in it and instantly get attacked by mk2s before your gunner even gets onboard

Thanks SF. So don't upgrade the armor at all, or just don't get the highest priced armor?

Upgrade the percentage-based Armor, but don't add Armor Plating.

 

Any plating will prevent you from throwing sticky bombs, etc. and the heavy plating will even prevent you from firing handguns. But the protection offered by all levels, including no plating is the same: You can't get shot through the windshield (even with FMJ rounds) or the back, but you can get hit through the side windows. The additional plating over the side windows is only visual and won't actually block shots.

Can you obtain upgraded gun with weapon expert mechanic in arena workshop & skip bunker research?

I'm like 99.9% certain you can't buy the upgraded gun at the arena without having researched it, but this being GTA Online you can never know for sure.
