hi there. i love seeing all the cool lakes and rivers in this game. and it has a lot of them. so i want to know what your favorite is? for me i would say the ocean in guarma. every time i replay the game and get to guarma. i love to watch the waves. it makes me wish i could be in the game and just go for a swim all day. and with the palm trees. it makes the scenery so much better. i would want to have a house right on the beach if i could. i recently tried to go over to the ocean and see if i could swim. but the rockstar fun police ruined it and the invisible sniper got me.

and for the main map i would say my favorite would be flat iron lake. not as cool as the ocean but it still has some nice scenery. and im sure it would be fun to swim in. just not around that weird naked guy lol. i would also say some honorable mentions are the dakota river and owanjila. so what are yours? you can have more than one and even include the red dead redemption 1 map.

Mr. Jabe

My favourite bodies of water are somewhat surprisingly the least vast and most shallow. Those being Heartland Overflow and Little Creek River. I remember riding through the former for the first time - how realistic the reaction of the water and the fleeing birds were. It was a really uncanny moment and for me marked just how much of a leap Rockstar had taken visually and physically with the game. As to Little Creek River, I just love how it complements Big Valley visually. Bisecting the two parallel mountains with its winding flow - when atop Mount Shann underneath a clear night sky the light of the moon hits the water and makes for one of the best scenes in the game. The image of Little Creek River in the very first trailer with the flying birds was probably the most resonant and inspiring of that. The varying lights of the sun and moon also hit the Overflow really nicely as well and is particularly atmospheric when coupled with the morning fog.

Neither particularly great for swimming in mind!

Same here. It was one of the first places I went after arriving at horseshoe overlook.

I shot a lot of critters around there early on.

My wife was walking around there once and actually got bit by an opossum.

O'creagh's run: I have fond memories of my first playthrough when I got there, I was looking for some grizzly bears to hunt and since there is the legendary one there I thought I'd find the normal ones, but I instead just chilled next to the water. I like it because the water is pretty clear, you can easely see the types of fish that swim in it, and the small island in the middle is a pretty good touch that makes the place even more beautifull, I still go there to fish, there is barely any travellers passing by, so its just me, my fishing rod, and the fish to keep me busy.

San Luis River: as soon as I reached the epilogue, I bolted to New Austin to see the RDR 1 map to see how enhanced it is compared to the first game, and the first thing I had to say is, that river is gorgeous. The water is clear too, and since its pretty close to Mexico, you actually get to hear the ambient music for Mexico in the game which is pretty awesome, it has some RDR 1 vibes to it unlike the NA one.

I wish I could go to Guarma freeroam.

But I too liked O'Creagh's Run.

Unfortunately some of my favorite bodies of water have no fish in them, like Hawk's Eye and Deadboot Creek

The other night I WALKED the whole of the Dakota river from Bard's Crossing to Calumet Ravine and it's my favourite river or body of water in any game period.

Going to do it with the Kamassa River next.

Also Little Creek river is a favourite, that whole area in Big Valley was the first place where I free roamed and explored after the Prologue. Fought a bear, tamed a horse, robbed old mother Watson and then ran away from the shotgun toting witch and her pooches.
