why am i banned?

Hello everyone, the only game I played to have fun in the time of coronavirus was gta online, but I just installed the mercedes benz mode for the story mode and got banned. I was banned indefinitely. it's really unfair. I see 3000 level players but they are never banned. I was banned for 1 car mod! thanks rockstargames! I've been at home for 3 months, I'm bored at home because of the damn corona. I was forgetting everything while playing gta online. it's really not fair.

I'm sorry dude you aren't supposed to enter Online with modded files. I know their anti-cheat sucks but it is what it is. I hope you can get your hands on another copy.

It's kinda a ''you'' problem since you haven't done no research about modding and online. On a positive side you can get GTA for quite cheap now, and it was even free for grabbing last week or so.

You don't get banned for single player mods. Furthermore, you cannot access GTA Online with single player mods installed as the game tells you it's modified before you can even join. 

I don't even remove them from my game directory before going online, I just rename "dinput8.dll" and "ScriptHookV.dll" to "dinput8 disabled" and "ScriptHookV disabled" and it's fine because nothing's being hooked or injected. 

 

Permanent ban also suggests you were suspended once previously, unless you went straight to a perma for some unknown reason (and the recent cases of people getting permanent bans when they should be suspensions probably won't be related, as you would have had a suspension email and then upon trying to access Online, you'd be told it was permanent).
