One time it played for me during the mission Union Drive as Niko and Bernie were chasing the Russians round the freeway in Algonquin, it was perfect. The inclusion of several niche radio stations that closely fit the setting/characters makes for a really good immersive atmosphere and is one of my favourite things about the game. They do that to some extent with every GTA game but I feel like they went above and beyond with it in IV. 1 Link to post Share on other sites

Wayne Kerr 2,229 Posted November 7, 2020 Share Posted November 7, 2020 I'm going to use this thread to express my love for this game's shootout missions Playing through GTA IV again and oh man missions which involve intense shootouts are not just the best this game has to offer but for my money among the best experience the series as a whole can give. Deconstruction for Beginners was a lot of fun, going from one target to the other while taking down scores of the Mafia felt challenging yet was a blast. Packie's missions are the best in the game imo and all are among the best shootouts in the series. And I was just playing Hostile Negotiation and oh man that probably matches Three Leaf Clover in terms of how intense the shootout is, atleast in TLC you have the McRearys', here you are all on your lonesome but that makes it exciting, making your way up that dingy warehouse (great setting for the gunfight), surviving somehow to reach Roman combined with Niko's war cries and that visceral hate, simply perfection as far as gunfights go. I really like how in IV it's not so easy to just stand in the open and blast your way through your foes, I mean I guess you can but mostly you gotta use the cover system a lot or else atleast I die quite quick, it's fun to play the waiting game sometimes, taking cover and waiting for your opponent to make a mistake so you can pick him off. I don't think so, it doesn't rule out other games being great, or other games you haven't played yet or that haven't been made yet being even better. No one's played every game so no one can say for sure but everyone can have a game they think is the best ever from what they've played/are aware of. But then I started to read on forums that its one of the most hated games here. I checked why and now I can tell, the gun sounds suck, the pistol fire sounds like someone spitting while gta 4 has a real sound to it, same with m4 gun. Infernus and some of other cars in this game sound utterly trash, why would you accept it? Then the idle glitch, cops chase you for no reason. It is not fixed anytime in the existing and new Rockstar Games then I will keep my old gtas as well as gta 4. I was hyped like a mofo for gta 5, but now I have settled with GTA IV. Also I get 25 or 30 fps on 720p on my laptop (igpu) in gta 4 and 5 or 10 fps or maybe low in gta 5. Why would I play a game that would reduce the life of my system? That's why I decided to settle with gta 4 for now, will get other gtas on a different machine though. Anyways guys stay safe, take of yourselves and thank you for opening my eyes. It's no problem preferring one game over the other but you should try to make your own judgement on why you prefer that game and not because GTAF is telling you that game is better because when you let the 'hivemind' for lack of a better term dictate what game you like soon it may become to the point where you won't enjoy anything unless the majority deems it good, and you don't want to get to that point. Not saying you are wrong for preferring IV but it's better if you base it on your own impressions of the game rather than because V is more hated here Link to post Share on other sites

I am looking forward to the 2021 patch for it, which will introduce Vulkan api, but right now my internet is under 20 Mbps, I need a Gbps connection standard at my place, xgs pon or 10g standard, I can wait for it, which may take several years here, but it will be worth it. Right now, I will take games less then 20 or 40 GB until then its good. I might try it when my pc is ready until then its the games from 2000s. But the car that I crashed is not a police car, its a civillian car. Taxis in GTA 5 does not spawn too much in streets. You need to call it on your phone and wait. Sometimes the taxi will not be there which is a prank. Your f*cked. In GTA 4, taxis always spawn in the streets. They are always there whenever you need one. GTA 5's language is too much. The word "f*ck" and "n***a" is said there a thousand times. In GTA 4 it is only said sometimes, which is okay to me. In GTA 4 the word "n***a" is just said there once/twice. I can't hang into gates in GTA 5. When I was standing next to a gate and when I pressed the jump button, it jumps off the gate automatically. In GTA 4, you will hang in a gate or wall. Not only that, when you are just standing somewhere the pedestrians fight you and call cops for no reason. Its not a good sign in a game like this. I am disappointed to say that RDR 2 also has this issue. I hope Rockstar solves it in GTA 6 otherwise gta 4 is my last Rockstar game. I am out of GTA V forever because Rockstar doesn't give sh*t about us having GTA 6. We are waiting, it must be a better game. No one can truly say anything is the best for sure, but I think it's okay to make your own subjective judgement on some things. And it's one of the most critically acclaimed games of all time made by one of the most critically acclaimed game companies of all time so I don't think it's too outrageous to think it might be the actual best by a lot of people's criteria.
