GTA 4 is the best game ever made.

Recommended Posts

Saad31

I only have GTA 4 on my pc because I love the physics, graphics, simple gameplay(less is much better), and low pc requirements. I could not buy the game due to the fact that I have no job and money, so I tried GTA V, GTA IV and other gta games through various means(not gonna talk here). I love GTA 5 too but I think playing GTA 4 on new consoles or pc would get you to look and feel it. I deleted all my other games because I love GTA series but for now its GTA 4 and EFLC. Let me know what you think. Eid Mubarak  to everyone, peace.

I agree. It is a special game in a lot of ways. I’ve just started a new run on PS3, and graphically it is rough but still holds up due to its sheer atmospherics and lighting effects. Its frame rate is the most obvious thing that sticks out now.

IV is the KING of GTAs. SA is a tiny bit overrated, and V is heavily overrated, but IV is a masterpiece

I don't know how I fell for GTA 4 and EFLC, its just simply better.

I am playing it with simple trainer and VisualIV on Windows 8.1.

Best in the franchise? I agree.

Ever made? Eh.

Even though GTA is my favorite video game franchise, I have played other games outside of the franchise that I think is better than most games in the franchise. IMO, the best game that has ever released in this decade is RDR2, such a masterpiece.

Agreed, but I don't know what I'd consider the "best": game ever since there are so many variables to consider. Similar thing with movies too. I certainly have my favourites where GTA IV ranks up the top though.

That's why I narrow it down. For example GTA IV is definitely the best in the series and second to none. Anyway it's always good to see someone being introduced to GTA IV and loving it. It's truly a masterpiece.:)

The thing is I love GTA IV and V both, but for a weaker system I would prefer GTA IV.

The PS3 version looks really rough even compared to other versions of the game. Ever played it on 360 or PC? If not I highly recommend it, good AA especially helps make it look great.

Unfortunately I have never seen IV on PC. I want to eventually but I have no clue about PC gaming. The 360 version is sharper, but there is more pop in, so between the the consoles the PS3 was fine, at least back then.

Nowadays it does look rough so I have to play it a smaller display, PS3 and 360 games just weren’t made for big full 1080p 55 inch TV’s like they were marketed to be.

Not even the best in GTA series, let alone the whole game industry. Sure, some people do like it the most in the series, but many others just pretend to because it's sort of unpopular opinion that can get you a lot of upvotes or some attention.

You remember these "GTA X is better than GTA Y" vids where X and Y are IV and V and vice versa? For some reason, the one called "GTA V is better than GTA IV" got way more dislikes than the original one called "GTA IV is better than GTA V" although they are basically the same - showing good things of each game compared to the other's downsides.

The GTA IV is better video showed far more important aspects, hence why the V one was disliked more.

Seeing how popular the opinion that GTA IV is the best in the franchise in this forum, I couldn't disagree more.

As B Dawg said, the original "GTA IV is better than GTA V" video showed far more important aspects. Ones that are usually the most important aspects of what make a GTA game better than another in many people's eyes. Things like shooting mechanics, superior parkour (for most parts, especially in grabbing into ledges), Euphoria, variety of interiors that are accessible outside missions, and such are valid points that significantly enhance the gameplay.

Literally the first thing the response video shows is how standing on moving vehicles is less realistic in V lmao. Not the best start. And it features things such as how leaves move more realistically, while the original was showing core gameplay aspects. It does highlight some cool details about V but it isn't a good response to the original video.

I can surely agree that it is the BEST GTA ever by far.

Issue with that IV did things better than V video and why the response video is ridiculous is because people do not understand that a 2008 game should not be able to stand up to its sequel that was supposed to be 5 years ahead of it.

If V has more cooler features than IV then that's nice because that's expected from a sequel. But when IV and SA has more to offer than V then we have a problem because that shouldn't be the case for a good sequel. The argument that both games have their own pros and cons works for different games, not for games that were supposed to be predecessors/successors to one another because again, successors are expected to be better.

The reason it got more dislikes is Crowbcat's video already done the damage by exposing GTA V's weaknesses so by the time someone scrambled together to make one for GTA V it was too little too late and from I remember it was mostly nitpicky stuff anyway or things that are expected from a newer game.

It's been said countless times of course both games have pros and cons over eachother. There are some things GTA V legitimately does better, but when you consider both games were made on the same engine, using the same physics etc when the newer game comes up short compared to the older one regarding core gameplay it's not a good look and it doesn't help when people jump to its defense with the "hardware limitations" excuse. It's exactly how I feel when I compare Mafia II to Mafia III. The newer game might do some things better, but it unties what made the older one so great and I find it hard to forgive.

Anyway I like GTA V a lot more than I used to and it's actually a great game in its own right, but many of its shortcomings still leave me puzzled after 7 years. GTA IV was already a fantastic game and I didn't need GTA V to see that, but sometimes I feel R* themselves underestimated just how far ahead GTA IV was in ways and probably didn't think people would notice many of these things being removed/watered down. Unfortunately that's not the case. Hopefully they've learnt a lesson for GTA VI.

The V video is also like half the length of the IV video, because they couldn’t find any more things V actually did better.

I personally prefer V over IV yet I don't think the V video does a good job against the Crowbcat video. I think he chose the wrong aspects to compare and didn't even emphasized on the things V does better that actually matter. I think Crowbcat is obviously a more skilled Youtuber.

Crowbcat is by far the more skilled youtuber but that V video does show off everything it does better and the majority of it is expected technical improvements. What is it missing?

He probably means things like planes, customisation and so on, but yeah I agree. The majority of what the response video showed were things expected from a newer game and technically should be there.

It's like getting a newer model car that has an improved sat nav, heated seats etc over the previous model. Basically things you'd expect, but then you realise it doesn't come with power steering, air con etc standard like the previous model offered. Lets also remember GTA V had a much bigger development budget than GTA IV and was one of the most expensive games ever made at the time.

It wasn't exactly some small indie project by a small developer. It's all well and good that it brought back those things that were "missing" from GTA IV, but when I play GTA V and I drive/walk around for example and I see that food vendors are completely useless despite they were readily available and practical on most street corners in GTA IV that sh*t annoys me because I can't buy into the excuse of "hardware limitations". It's like the exclusion of picking up objects, grabbing and holding onto ledges and so on. These are all simple mechanics and it still baffles my mind why they're not present in GTA V.

I think all Crowbcat did was create awareness for GTA IV and help prove that it's not some dull and boring game or atleast that's the notion people ascribed to about GTA IV back in the day and the game that R* hyped to the moon as being their most "ambitious" wasn't as Godly as they wanted everyone to think.

Deciding whether a game, movie, TV show, or whatever is the best ever made isn't too easy for me personally, as there is really so many to choose from.

The best game ever made? I don't really know. But I can say that it's the best game I've ever played until now.

Played with headset on. Much better sounding than GTA V. Haven't tried GTA V with headphones yet. GTA 4 with headset on sounds BAZOONGA!!! 😄

What if I told you there were 116 food vendors in gta iv. And most of them are hotdog vendors.

Do people realize that you can quite literally make the argument for any open world game being the best? Do you mean,  "GTA 4 is my favorite game ever made."

I'm curious if there is like a map made of this somewhere online.
