Theo Flitser
While most buildings in RDR2 show some architectural logic the Van Horn Mansion is an exception. To begin with, why call such a small building with only a few rooms a "mansion" ? It certainly can't be compared with the other mansions in the game. I also can't imagine a family living in this building, not because of its size but the way the rooms are divided. I see it more as a workplace with the single room upstairs serving as a doctor's cabinet, artists' atelier or such. The mansion is even lacking an outhouse though for a mansion you could expect indoor plumbing. No trace of that either. Places without access - behind the kitchen is a "storage room". without any doors to it. Or is this shelf a secret door ? - 2 small rooms on upper floor and 1 below also without any doors for access. and Where there should be doors we find either windows, a chimney or the stairs well. Note that I am not talking here about these being inaccessible rooms because there interior simply hasn't been modeled. Further oddities : - 2 chimneys that have no purpose at all, unless it's "hidden" in the storage room. - the upper room has 3 windows but no door to the gallery. Maybe the gallery was added more recently and they didn't bother to modify the windows. Anyway, this inspired me to make my own 3D model with some refurbishments.
