Aurora11
For some reason I can not change the ped density in game. I tried https://www.gta5-mods.com/misc/higher-peds-density-for-gta-5-for-latest-version-of-game even multiplied the values with 10x but still there is no change at the ped density at all Tried "High vehicle density" mod, it works. Tried "Higher vehicles and peds density" mod, only vehicle density increases. Tried https://www.gta5-mods.com/misc/simple-increase-traffic-and-pedestrian (popcycle.dat), multiplied every new values with 6x, fishes, birds, vehicles they all increase except damn peds density Also installed https://www.gta5-mods.com/scripts/cscenariopoint-patch in case but still same and the game just feels so empty with such low density ped numbers. You know how crowded Los Angeles streets are and I enjoy having realism in my game, sometimes doing simple role plays and such. However like this, it just feels I'm playing a zombie apocalypse game without any zombies or like corona hit the Los Santos in gta Can anyone could help me with this issue? Thank you everyone in advance. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/954747-cant-change-ped-density/ Share on other sites

So the gang towns area very populated but the downtown and Vinewood Hills movie theater areas still just a ghost town The provided gameconfig.xml with the mod crashing my game at startup, so I am using https://www.gta5-mods.com/misc/gta-5-gameconfig-300-cars gameconfig with highly increased values. These are the gameconfig.xml values of mine; <ScenarioPedsMultiplier_Base value="850"/> <ScenarioPedsMultiplier value="1000"/> <AmbientPedsMultiplier_Base value="4500"/> <AmbientPedsMultiplier value="5000"/> <MaxTotalPeds_Base value="800"/> <MaxTotalPeds value="2000"/> <PedMemoryMultiplier value="5000"/> <PedsForVehicles_Base value="800"/> <PedsForVehicles value="800"/> I mean with all these values.. I should see more peds in game than total ant population inside their nest.. Even the movie theater at Vinewood Hills there are just 10-15 people standing in front of it. and 3 or4 max people walking left or right at total.. LeeC22
The problem with some of these values, is they're not literal values, they're percentages. This is something me and the author of that mod discovered when I wrote a programme to edit the popcycle.dat file a few years ago. So where you see <ScenarioPedsMultiplier value="100"/>, that probably doesn't mean 100 peds, it more likely means 100 percent of the peds that can be allocated for scenarios. Anything above 100 will probably just get ignored because 100 percent means total possible. I suspect that's why it is shown as a multiplier and not an actual value. In keeping with that, I suspect that <ScenarioPedsMultiplier_Base value="70"/> means that the game will allocate 70% of the total amount of scenario peds, leaving 30% for peds that are meant so be scripted into the map in special-case scenarios, like cash-point robberies, that kind of thing. So what you have to do first of all is determine which values are percentages and which values are actual values because unless the game is expecting percentages above 100, they're more than likely going to get clamped to 100 anyway. The game always leaves itself some breathing space to allow for sudden boosts in population. One of the random car chases can add up to 6 peds into the pool for example and I think these percentage values are meant to reflect that. This is why the game becomes unstable when mods start to restrict or take away that breathing space. I have personally never seen a gameconfig increase the ped density but I have seen gameconfigs cater for the density being increased by other means, whether that be hand-placed scenarios or scripted ped-spawns. Maybe @Shnockered1 can add some input into this as he's probably spent more time on this subject than anyone else. I speculate from a game developer's perspective based on how I think the game might work... but this is Rockstar, so that might mean very little. You might find this interesting, this is a video of a mod and app I wrote, that tracks every ped and moving vehicle in the world around the player. You can see from this, that the number of human peds is really small and that's something else to note, animals are peds, so they also eat into the ped pool. Aurora11
@LeeC22 I see. It's quite an interesting video honestly. You always creating small but one of the most interesting things I have ever seen :D Being following your web site time to time since the helicopter effects mod. Quite interesting things you have done and also your YouTube channel. I was going to mention you about I edited my popcycle.dat too as well but upon @Shnockered1 's profile, I saw he was having the exact same issue with me as well ( https://gtaforums.com/topic/905800-increasing-ped-densities/ ). I left a comment but since I truly and kinda despertately need to make this work, going to send him a pm as well and hope that he came to a solution. Thank you so much for letting me know about, you were very helpful :) LeeC22 1 Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/954747-cant-change-ped-density/#findComment-1071212350 Share on other sites
