Proper metal stations like in The Lost and Damned

Los Santos Rock Radio was alright, I liked Channel X, but man there were like 5 rap stations (which I understand since a lot of people listen to that including myself), but damn man there were a bunch of station with way less popularity than metal like Rebel Radio (and i love country don't get me wrong), the Mexican radio station, Radio Mirror Park (which I loved anyway) and whatnot. But sh*t, even after the bikers update, nope, Rockstar didn't think of including a metal station and proceeded to add Blonded, iFruit and The Lab. I mean fine that sh*t costs money but they have enough.

But sh*t, in LA/CA, home of Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth and a sh*tton of other bands, they didn't considering including a metal station?

TLAD straight up had 2 metal stations one being classic another being death/black, and that was pretty cool. In that day of age when GTA V was out there was a bunch of metalcore and djent bands which they could've included at least.

Well anyway, GTA 6 could at least have a metal station and maybe include modern metal like As I Lay Dying, Knocked Loose, ERRA and whatnot if not classic metal would be fine too.

I totally agree with you!!

At the time V came out I was disappointed by the radio stations, I enjoyed only a few of them. Now luckily with LSUR I've had something more that I can enjoy, Dixon excluded.

Like you I'd LOVE to have one radio for hard rock like GnR, ACDC and so on, and another radio for the greatest metal songs ever from Metallica, Slayer, Iron Maiden, Pantera, Manowar...

Even in Vice City there are a couple songs from Judas Priest, Iron Maiden and other classics!!

I thought the soundtrack in TLAD was insane, had Iron Maiden, Motley Crue, AC/DC, then f*cking LCHC had motherf*cking Celtic Frost, Bathory, Deicide, At the Gates, which at the time I couldn't really enjoy but as I got into heavier stuff damn I thought it was crazy to have that in GTA at the time.

I loved what Radio Mirror Park had to offer, and it's kinda weird how bands like Yeasayer who were never really mainstream made it into some popular games yet their shows had like 50 people. How'd they land that I don't know.

Yeaaah more metal sounds great. Black metal, death metal, even some nu metal, I'd take it all. I do enjoy multiple genres but electronica and hip hop get a lot more show than good old thrash.

a setting in San Fierro would go benefit some metal music. The bay area is famous for Thrash Metal.

I was also disappointed that there was no hard rock and heavy metal station in GTA 5.While LSRR did have a few hard rock songs (most of which it got in current gen version) it was placed together on the same station with a bunch of soft rock and pop rock, and it just seemed weird hearing something like If You Leave Me Now or Too Late For Goodbyes after something like Gimme All Your Lovin' or Danger Zone. And I was especially disappointed because R* shown they're able to add new stations to GTA 5,but they never bothered adding at least one hard rock/heavy metal station (and I agree that Bikers DLC was a perfect opportunity to add it).

I hope the next game has something similar to LRR in GTA 4 and EFLC,or either version of V-Rock on the soundtrack.

What's funny is that the game already had 2 rap stations. So what did they do? They added 3 more rap stations. All of which were pretty low quality imo they could've added some proper rap.

Yeah, LSRR was weird, hearing Mississippi Queen and then If You Leave Me Now didn't really fit. Radio in GTA V was kinda trash in comparison with older games.

I wouldn’t consider myself a metal fan, Hell I don’t know the first thing about it but whenever I played TLAD it was the ONLY station I listened to. That sh*t was awesome.

Rap music is more popular than metal so it makes sense having more than 2 rap stations. But yeah i don't understand why they didn't bothered making at least a modern rock/metal radio

The reason why they added 3 new Rap stations in V is because Rap music is currently the most popular genre worldwide. Rock music simply isn't hot anymore, otherwise we would of had additional radio stations for it.

I'm aware, but literally nobody listens to trap anymore as it died in 2018 (coming from someone who listens to rap too). Pop is the most popular genre again. iFruit Radio was some 2 years late.

I mean, they included a Mexican station that nobody aside from Mexican rednecks listen to (no offense, just as a European I don't find it appealing as it reminds me of local turbo-folk stuff), and they included country that still isn't nearly as popular as metal and many different genres too. Also Radio Mirror Park, nobody but two people listened to that music.

You are very wrong dude, plenty of people still listen to trap music in The United States and various other countries and the top 10 songs on the hot billboard right now has at least 5 to 6 traps songs on it. Not sure if the link you provided is even accurate because various sources I’ve read has stated that Rap is still the most popular genre with Rock music coming in 2nd.

I’m not saying that R* was right to to neglect the Rock stations but I don’t blame them for following the current trend of music which happens to be Hip Hop. Hopefully R* will add more variety of radio stations for GTA 6.

In real life I know no radio station that plays that kind of music, so I never bothered that it is not in GTA (since it's not my music anyway). Any idea why, do American radio stations play it? Is it considered offensive for many?

I think he made a typo and wrote trap by accident

That chart is about listener loyalty, not popularity.

You're correct and I back what I said, but since Peep and X died I've generally heard popstars like Billie Eilish and Dua Lipa in general. Hot Billboard doesn't mean all that much since metal releases end up there too (Slipknot, As I Lay Dying, or when Tool released Fear Inoculum every single song from that album hit the hot charts), there's interest in it too but I'm more surprised Billie Eilish and whatnot wasn't in the new stations.

What I'm saying is, if they went with the current trend of music, why did they include irrelevant genres like East Los FM, Radio Mirror Park etc?

Lil Peep wasn’t really all that popular and right now in the United States trap artists like Roddy Rich, DaBaby and Megan Tha Stallion is getting a lot more radio play over the pop artists you mentioned. I see that you are from Serbia so I guess it’s a bit different in your country.

East Los FM and Radio Mirror Park were included in the game from the start. They obviously weren’t going to exclude those type of stations but over time R* added more Rap and a Electronic station because that’s what people like the most currently.

Arrows to Athens

I'd like some modern rock or metal, like Breaking Benjamin, RED, Skillet, Three Days Grace, Ashes Remain, 30 Seconds to Mars, Papa Roach, A Day to Remember, etc.

Also, both of them fit the LA/LS culture. East Los FM because of the Hispanic population, and Radio Mirror Park because indie music is also popular in LA and it was parodying the "hipsters" of the city. I don't think Rockstar are necessarily going by what's more popular currently - for GTA Online DLC's maybe, but not for the main games.

I've always said the one of the worst things Rockstar didn't do for GTAV was to acknowledge the post-Grunge/Stoner Rock scene that L.A. and the Palm Desert had through the mid-90's onwards, I mean come on, it's not full Metal but it's still heavier than most of what we got in V:

LCHC was awesome. channel X is ok i guess, but LCHC is the perfect station when you want to go on rampages in your car. i always switched to LCHC immediately when i got a wanted level. it was my most listened station in TBOGT (for TLAD it was vladivostok. it's like the two stations got swapped. lol)

We need a station that plays metal greats like Men Without Hats and Culture Club.

I think you should have something like V-Rock: hard rock and heavy metal. Florida is known for death metal acts like Cannibal Corpse, but I think there should be thrash metal and hard rock bands too.
