If the next DLC truly is C&C then I think it might be at least delayed, despite the fact I personally think they aren't gonna talk about it for a while yet.

If next update is C&C theme, situation might calm down till mid july when we can expect some info, so by then R* can release it.

Yeah, that happens every now and then. Retailation against police, not so much.

 

I mean, R* might have trouble with the authorities this time, not with general public, depending on how the dlc turns out to be.

Well if the same sh*t happens again and again, at some point people will get pissed and do something to change it. Sometimes with violence sometimes peacefull.

 

Why would they have trouble with the authorities? Last time I checked it was not illegal to depict corruption inside law enforcement or overly violent cops.

Then again, I wouldnt be surprised if that changed considering that someone wants to ban twitter because they deleted his tweets for containing false information.

Right now is one of the worst time to release/announce a Cops and Crooks DLC for GTAO, think we have to wait a little longer.

I wish R* would add more quality-of-life improvements to GTA Online. we sometimes occasionally get some noteworthy game improvements in the two updates released per year, but the core modes havent been touched in years. I like racing in GTA but nobody plays the old street races anymore, like its either cunning stunts, hoop-the-hoop crap or nada. id like them to overhaul races, similar to this fivem mod video that was recommended to me earlier today... it looks really fun but sadly i Dont have the pc capable to run it, so I have to rely on whatever r* does. probably another triple money event on an adversary mode nobody players anymore, like open wheel races they were fun for a few weeks and died. but damn, if this server is as good as the video makes it out to be, id happily race on it all day, sick of event weeks and buzzard discounts

Where did the rumors of cops and crooks even come from? There hasn't been one shred of concrete evidence for the next dlc even being pig-related.

It’s very unlikely the DLC will be delayed. Expect it to drop end of June or very early July.

I'm not expecting anything until the summer break anyway, but given how many groans there were regarding how long they teased the casino last summer, I do feel they'll start any promos a little later so there isn't a month/6 week spell of waiting.

General concensus was 2019 taught Rockstar if they make updates based on what the community has been asking for for years now, it can reap even bigger rewards than an update that's obvious Sharkcard Bait, Cops n Crooks is such a fan request.

 

Yan made a post later on, (a while back now, towards the end of Speculation Thread Mk8 I think), saying;

"it's best not to talk about the theme of the next update... wouldn't want anyone getting arrested".

 

Then Mach, posted right after that that he "just got out of jail".

 

THAT, was it. No obvious leak, just posts that people can choose to construe as a hint.

It's not rumours, it's just general worry amongst us lot here in the forum that IF the next update is indeed related to becoming a Cop in any regard (corrupt or even otherwise), the PR disaster that'll be given current real world events in America, would Rockstar risk it, especially given all their success from the release of the Casino last year right up to the Epic Games Store Free Release.

Like I said if timing is the issue then R* would be unable to ever release that dlc. 

This stuff will keep happening, people will get increasingly agressive when it happens.There is no point in waiting and why should they. Because the US cant sort out their problem with triggerhappy untrained and racist police officers while the rest of the world is doing relativly fine?

That would be an interesting way to tease the update. I'm willing to bet that's what they're saving those for. We've seen them tease the casino update by adding props, and then a text message to tease the casino heist.

@Fun 2 brought up (hopefully) good signs where business is as usual as it can get in times like this , they haven’t super slowed down their schedule and are testing as of a month ago

Speaking of @Fun 2, he's not given  any non-cryptic hints for the next DLC which in my opinion is a little odd.

 

Im hoping for C&C because

1) it's one of the most requested DLC's 

And

2) Everyone on this thread is assuming that it will be the next DLC
