Idk, seems to me the best way to add some mansions would be to plop them down on a tropical piece of dirt in the middle of the ocean. Rather than modify/adapt the land we already have.

I was thinking they could place Catalina from gta3 as a statue somewhere on the island.

Ah, so I see you weren't here for the early 2016 debacle when the forums went nuts over posts being deleted about a potential story DLC and map expansion to LC, only for it to turn out the mods were deleting posts to bait and troll certain "content creators" on YouTube. 

 

The mods have definitely trolled these forums before.

The problem with that is the same problem with conspiracy theories: the bigger the number of people involved in the alleged conspiracy, the harder it is to believe that no one is leaking information. Which is not to say that the staff here can never keep a secret, but it's a reason why Rockstar would not want to trust them with any hard info about far-away updates. And if anything, R* has only gotten more careful and tight-fisted over time with their secrets. We used to get detailed leaks of most updates, but those days are gone.

If you think there are no signs and its just speculation you clearly haven't been paying attention... Sure, You might not believe that the hints from the staff are real, but thats a different discussion. They leaving more hints about Catalina than they left for the yacht before summer special was officially announced.

And speaking of effort - making a small island would probably take less effort then they put into Arena War and Casino dlcs (depending on the size of that island ofc)

I just park something huge in that place (like Avenger and Brickade) to block those spawn points and I usually get phantom wedges (since those spawn in a different place). Doesn't always work tho.
 

You always get 2 Phantom Wedges if you doing a bigger sale. Also I never had a problem with delivering both of them on time and my Bunker is in grand senora desert.

Not much you could add? Theres a lot of possibilities for a heist there. Art gallery, casino, cartel owned mansions etc.

i admit  the more i think about it  i was wrong about the lc expansion at least for this gen because of limitations and it just make more sense to save it for next gen when online is on its own . 

never said there is not options for a heist on sc island i said after that i dont see it being used much for big dlcs way i see it is a easy map to make do the heist might aswell have it in freeroam after that .

You could also say "that would explain why they changed the logo like 9 times already and they still haven't said anything more then catalina island and winter dlc. Cause thats probably all they know so far.  Or its all that R* wants to "leak" for now."

But yeah, I said many times before that we shouldn't trust in everything they say cause they either trolling or speculating the same way we do. Same story was with the "hipsters part 2" thing. They probably knew about some retro cars that are coming in the next dlc so they speculated its hipster theme. But it turned out to be After Hours.

Buuuuut leaving comments like this in a completely different threads would be some deep, next level of trolling

Just want to reiterate that the mods have trolled the forum with fake DLC in the past. Some years back they claimed to have information about an upcoming DLC where cut content like the Heavy Rifle, Programmable AR, etc would introduced into the game, along side some other claims. In the end, it was just a prank to get the forum all riled up. This took place in one of the very old DLC discussion threads 4 or 5 years ago. I can't find the exact thread at this moment, but those who have been around for quite some time will likely recall that event. Take anything the mods say or hint towards with an extremely small grain of salt.

That would be true if the users, mods and above were equally subject to the rules., but mods are more equal than the average user. But of course, given people know that, they can totally take advantage of that and dick us around. That's why it's best not to believe yet not disbelieve anything they say at this point. I don't think R* would just leave the island with a Heist. They would expand on it by adding new characters, new businesses and new missions. I agree with you about it not being a "long term" location for the future but I believe we could get a year or 2 out of it (regarding actual content). After that, we might move onto LC or another location?
