I think I bought up all the aircraft that were available. It wasn't like 2020 where you could have a field day with billions of GTA$, there wasn't that much to buy.

i would  not go that far. AH was sh*t compared to other summer updates even the clubs where half assed with dripfeeding dj's etc. 

 

atleast we know the vehicle list has a decent size to it unlike AH and some use for the yacht is a much requested feature.

 

it's not as big and exiting as other summer updates sure,but it's a stretch to already call it the worst update ever.

poorly optimized in their own ways. In return for not getting layer 7 of hell games with windows live, we got memory leaks and soft locks related to frame rate

 

(my friend had a memory leak just a few months ago actually)

it makes sense for several reasons, the most obvious is it would be the easiest expansion to add as it could be on the map in the same session, you could just fly or drive a boat to it, it would also be way easier to model than a whole new city.  it has a yacht club, hotels, shops, restaurants, and mansions.  it has beautiful beaches and wildlife and reef tours.  it's a playground for the rich and would totally fit in GTaO

I don't think we're getting any form of a map expansion, but I'll still be disappointed if we don't in December. That said, I can't imagine how upset everyone will be when the "new location" is just another underground interior like the missile silo from DDH.

Agree, at that point trailers are pointless.
But I'm sure they have some statistic that show them its more beneficial for them. For example - if you show a trailer couple days early - everyone has time to prepare for the update. But If you drop it on the same day, I bet theres a huge % of players who didn't even realize theres a new update coming. So they launch gta, they see they have no money, so they impulsively buy sharkcards.

Ok, so not such a big fuss...i thought that now we couldn't data mine the hidden files of the dlc until they are released.

IDK...R* sometimes act awkward as hell...1st they "asked" Yan to shut up, when people knowing in advance what would come always worked in their favour to build hype. Yes,  unless in AH, but...that's bcz they half-assed one of the most requested dlc...boogles my mind why they couldn't do a dlc in the level of TBOGT even when was RDR 2 year of release. Also, not everyone will prepare for the dlc, bcz the majority of the player base are casuals and only 20% at most are players that take the game so seriously and with such a grind that R* will never sell a shark card to them, so the majority will not bother with "damn, i need to grind a lot to make enough cash in order to not need to buy a shark card, ok let's grind...second thought...will i be grinding this sh*t like it was a payed job while i can use my 2 hours of gaming causing caos in the lobby? Nah...i will buy a shark card".

depends, they could add a casino to the location, but they probably won't.  it could be something like Ocean's 8, we could heist art or jewelry during a gala at the yacht club

R* also could add a lot more things in certain locations full of wilderness areas in the exact map we have that no one cares and if you get stuck there without a vehicle, well...good luck...

GTA maps are never 100% representations of real life. It would be a fictional place... they can add how much wilderness as they want. And obviously the city would be the main focus of Catalina. Also look at the size of Los Santos compered to the whole map in GTA V. Its also mostly mountains and wilderness. So with your logic the current map we have is also "a terrible location for heists"

Don't forget a casino. So they could reuse a lot of assets from previous dlcs as well

Yeah, and those casuals don't even know when dlcs drop. And while they might not notice a newsire post, they would most likely notice a trailer. I'm sure statistically speaking not reveling stuff early increases the number of sold shark cards by a small %

What if we robbing a drug dealer like its Scarface or something like that? Theres also the casino I just mentioned. And museums with priceless art (and we already stole some art in casino heist, they can reuse those animations as well)

I don't get the hate for these early updates, we had like 5-6 a year and most of them included new weapons.

Also, they were far less likely to introduce game-breaking items..
