Lets think reasonably about this for a minute.

 

If the idea for the December update is to release a new area, the two most logical possibilities out of all areas would be North Yankton or Liberty City. North Yankton is a decent sized small town like Grapeseed and it is already crudely designed / developed. With the amount of time Rockstar has had to work on things, I am sure they were able to refine what we can already see in exploration videos of people glitching to NY while adding better buildings and town layouts. 

 

Liberty City would be an easy option for developers to create on the new engine since it is also an HD era city. LC is already planned out and would be a large enough area to keep most players satisfied until the release of GTA VI. I feel there are enough GTA 4 characters that have been left in Liberty City to offer jobs and opportunities ( i.e. Luis, Yusif Amir, Roman, possibly Liberty Paper Guy and Karen, Elizabeta, Little Jacob, etc.). There are plenty of apartments, penthouses, and properties that could be bought across the boroughs. 

I could also see this option POSSIBLY being a part of the developers going with Leslie Benzies (even though he left) and the Houser brother's original idea for GTA. GTA Online will be a standalone title incorporating all of the GTA cities eventually. Adding Liberty City to Online now would build the two coastlines while boosting shark card sales; and then they will add whichever city they are working on for GTA VI to Online and so forth. 

 

Edit: Disclaimer* This is only if *IF* the "new location" actually means a new location. I could be thinking to much into it. I am fully aware they could only mean a new heist location.

 

 

But what the f*ck North Yankton has to offer to us? Its just another generic rural area...

 

Probably they will increase lobby maximum capacity, so they will need something to spread out those players, it should be connected to LS  as one huge map

You do realise that they would add a lot of stuff if it would be released as a new map to freeroam around on?

We only see the outskirts of Ludendorf in the two missions that take place there. It could potentially be a relativly big city or another city could be near it. Remember there should be an airport around there somewhere since michael goes there from LSIA and trevor has to land his cuban 800 somewhere.

Of course, but still should be just another smaller area... doenst makes sense if they really increase maxicum capacity

And why build another entirely new smaller city just to justify North Yankton?
My point is, if is a loading screen travel it should be separated lobby, so the new map need to be big as Los Santos, and we know thats not happening until GTA VI
And if is not and its really north yankton, should be far away from LS, and thats doenst makes sense in San Andreas map, we should reach somewhere near first

North Yankton, in my humble opinion, should not even be considered a potential option. It's a very plot-centric location that makes sense for SP protags to visit, but for MP Protags there's no reason to visit it at all.

 

And with how bare the NY we currently have is, you would have to spend as much time and effort turning it into something worthwhile as you would making something entirely new and different.

 

You could throw a hundred location ideas in the hat and 99 of them would be more exciting than visiting the bloody outskirts of in-universe North Dakota. Same effort spent, much more excitement in almost any case.

Dont think they'd make another racing DLC cus ppl's reaction would be great, another racing dlc, meh...

Not to mention open wheel races are insufferably boring. I dont even own an open wheel car. Only racing I actually enjoy in GTA is sport/super stunts. I hope they leave owr to the creator and thats that.

What I am hoping for is a QoL dlc, with new vehicles sure but focusing on removing advanced handling flags to all vehicles that are useless because of them, a ton of new freemode activities, and maybe a new building with a few quests that introduce the storyline for december's update. And if we' re really lucky, maybe some car class rebalancing ( im looking at you pariah, infernus, bullet, sultanrs, gp1, etc) to make them more balanced again...put underperforming sports into sedans and underperfoeming supers into sports and overperforming sports into supers...not holding my breath on that tho. 

Edit: Bonus points if they fix car bugs that have been around forever, like the back armor bug on the scarab that lets u blow it up with 40 rifle shots, the xa-21 cant equit some mods or it will crash bug, etc...

 

Even better if they fixed that bug with lots of sport cars not making the jump in "in the city" stunt track

Agreed - the Rockstar-made racecourses were pretty bad, but it at least gave us an idea of what might be introduced if the creator gets updated. With some new vehicles (*cough* go-karts *cough*) and some attention to deal with people driving backwards, it might yet be fun.

Wishful thinking (especially at this 'late' of a game stage) but not beyond the realms of possibility. They changed the advanced flags a little before, but that was probably because the racing community made such a stink about them. And class rebalancing is highly unlikely, as you said, but needs to be done (or should have been done years ago).

I don't imagine there will be a building in the 'small Summer DLC', although Rockstar might start some timed prop placement / movement like they did with the Casino opening, along with texts or Emails to tease the 'big Winter DLC'. As for activities, probably nothing brand new - maybe some more races, additional adversary-mode maps, more uncommon clothes in Business Battles, etc. Nothing to get hugely excited about. 

 

But I might just be being pessimistic. Rockstar could amaze us!

Yeah I guess you're right, just saw his tweets where he was just speculating about the DLC. I still don't know if he has a contact or not, a few months ago he had some info about GTA VI etc. en I heard some people here before suggesting he had some sort of info. Looks like this is just speculating as all of us.

So long as there's one more spot after buying any new sport, supers and muscle cars that may come, I'll buy that next.

 

Best I can do as I really love those 3 classes, but I have driven it since and do feel it's a decent looking car and would be fun to tinker with. Bit snappy on the front end but I can see myself enjoy one when not on jobs where NPC's are looking to shread me, lol. I only have one empty spot but need that to dump any car I win off the wheel or I think I'd own one now to be fair.

 

I was a bit hard on the thing, although maintain I'm less an off road guy and more a street/track chap.
