That’s not an “entirely new location”. Plus the picture was in reference for the upcoming update. Not whatever is coming in December

Trouble with that is if he/the mods allow you to have an alternate account and breach the forum rules, others will soon start doing it.

if this is lc as the map expansion then should consider it like rdr online beta heist aside it will be basic free roam no business other then the heist setup place . 

then next year with the new standalone rockstar will release a big update for next gen

And I'm usually VERY pessimistic when it comes to R* judging by the pattern of their previous updates. But on the other side there are solid reasons why people think it might be a map expansion

I'm pretty sure you are wrong about the location of that picture. Someone showed it in here before, its next to the Spitroasters Meathouse.
 

I would be really happy if thats actually the case. I've been pitching that idea for years. They could basically recreate the ending of Scarface / Vice City

- City morgue summer event got delayed because of the virus and their radio will be added with the winter update (they chose this group because they’re from NYC). That’s why we’re getting a small update right now that doesn’t have an actual theme because it was not on their schedule. 
This means that we should have got the December update in summer ( heist in LC) and the expansion map in december with GTA5 ps5.
 

- Dj whoo kid has maybe been replaced with the city morgue group for the radio station for the « next gta » who he said will take place in NYC

 

- GTA online becoming a paid standalone game makes sense. We will pay for a map extension and not for some graphics changes or maybe new engine (enhanced) , the « expanded » has now a good meaning to it. If the game was only getting a new interior, there will be no reason to buy the new online and gta online would’ve continue as a free game just like all the game we’re buying now and we will get it for free for the new gen consoles. (ex: rdr online )

I was thinking we might get an offshore oil rig , big cruise ship or maybe aircraft carrier to rob!! but i am leaning more towards an LC expansion because of two reasons 

 

- As most people here have pointed out R* would never mention entirely new location in the post if its just a new / old building

- R* had mentioned this in jan 28 article 'Plus, expect more big updates and a few surprises as we move forward into the year.'

 

LC will be the surprise i assume... either entire LC or a part of it (on current gen)

 

I won't mind an island expansion (with small airport/landing strip) either...this way i would be able fly my aircrafts there..GTA flying enthusiast in me would love it

An update coming for GTA on Tuesday is actually plausible. I feel like people are misreading the Newswire.

 

We are getting a smaller update for GTA first, which will include that supercar they posted. Later on this summer (probably september knowing rockstar lol) we are getting that large heist update with the map expansion.

I rly hope you trolling cause if it releases at the same day as rdro update (and they didn't even gave us the date) that would mean it will be a reaaaaally sh*tty update.

Tho I said before that a filler update would be better than nothing. Even if they add something simple as creator mode for RC cars and open wheelers. At least the community would have something to do till "the big one" is ready.

When I was pitching naval dlc / private islands I always used those 3 as examples. But I'm 100% they will reuse the aircraft carrier once again at some point.

Yeah I felt this way. Though I feel the big one will actually be a December update lmao. If it isn't, well even better.

 

But I do feel if GTA:O update drops soon it'll be Thursday or the following Tuesday. No later or earlier.

I agree but if it was to be LC or something new, they would have to make the airport functional and have the new map loaded in separately like when loading in from GTA Singleplayer to online

 

If they just add in a map as big as LC without having it in it's own section like North Yankton the game would have super low frame rates; that's why if they were to add in a new location a small island as you said like from Vice City would make the most sense tbh

 

And thinking about it further if it is a new island it could be a separate island on the same map but with nothing but mansions; but knowing R* I would assume the bare minimum until further notice

 

This would give them a reason to add new locations + mansions which everyone has been wanting since day 1; especially since the game takes place in LS/LA which is known for having mansions so it never made sense why we can own Penthouses, Buildings, Airports .etc but not something as simple as a mansion especially giving how many expensive cars and flashy items are available in GTA Online

They announced some sort of arena war event week for next thursday so why should they release it on the 28th too without announcing it? And "later this year" sound like a really big timeframe tbh hence december update.

Time will tell of course, but I read it where they said both are getting updates in the coming weeks, meaning RDRO on 28th and GTA more likely 2 weeks later, and the later DLC was a reference to the winter addition. But we'll see, I'd certainly not complain if GTA got one Tuesday and another a few weeks later with that said to be biggest ever.

 

I'm not convinced it's a map expansion though. Of course, I'd very much love it, be it an island off coast, Yankton, Liberty City or elsewhere, it could be absolutely awesome. But until we know more, I'm going with a casino-like tweak to the map as my expectations there, lol. I know all too well not to get too caught up in hoping for better.

 

In fact, the only thing I truly care about learning asap is how much garage space we may get.
