Next DLC Speculation Topic Mk IX

Seeing as the summer DLC for GTA is smaller, probably like a typical March filler DLC, and RDRO's is said to be massive, I do wonder if this is R* testing the waters of RDRO compared to GTA:O.

 

If for example, this filler DLC here draws better than RDRO's DLC while being smaller in comparison, that could be key in weather R* hedge their bets only with GTA:O going onto next gen, lol.

 

Anyway, hopefully with this smaller DLC we get the basics, garage space. I'd be glad if they just upped the property cap and let us buy a couple more garages/apartments already there, or add another level or two to the office or other businesses like the nightclub even.

 

That and a few new contact missions, a couple of new arena modes, some good QoL (including arena points being addressed somehow), and some new cars/vehicles and I'm good. New open wheel tracks and the race editor would be good to see, and some new other races like stunt and even regular road tracks too. 

 

I'd be ok with that. Add clothes and new decorations for the penthouse as well, just a good sprinkling of allsorts to hold us over until Christmas suits me. Could be a good chance to call it Ill-Gotten Gains part III considering how well paying that casino heist was, lol.

Considering their wording in the newswire I dont expect the summer update to be much beyond cars clothes and PvP modes (with maybe a few bullsh*t AI contact missions put in during the dripfeed).

I thought most people in here realized this.

 

We're currently closer to Christmas 2020 than the release of the Casino Heist, so that's why people are hyped -- for the "bigger" DLC.

I don't think we'll see a full map expansion. The main reason is that they can keep that for next gen, which you'll need to buy and therefore earns them money, why would they give it away now ?

 

I was wondering if it could be at the country club over on the West Side.

 

It is possible there will be an expansion, but it'd be in limited form - like in one of the old game where you go to another city and set a car bomb in the restaraunt car park. You just sort of "appear" there.

They could do it a bit better though - you get on an aircraft of some sort and fly off the current map to another map and where you can travel there is limited and only available in the heist/missions. That way they could expand there in next gen.

It could be Cheng has wandered off and got himself in to trouble in some other place ?

 

Whatever this big DLC is, it will surely lead to whatever they're planning for next gen versions to dnagle the carrot of buying that version next year.

I feel like the new location is going to be LC and we're going to rob the Bank Of Liberty again for the December update. As @Piro stated all they have to do is port over LC from IV and update it with new textures. If that's the case I'm guessing we'll have a huge shootout in LC and then have to escape to the airport to fly back to LS. R* could have all the prep work in LC too since the bank upped its security after the robbery which will result in the players getting familiar with all the new security features added.

Why would they add the entirety of LC just for a Heist? 

Also, do you really think current consoles are able to run LC alongside the current map? The Casino alone made the game freeze each time you drive next to it, imagine an entire city, and for the people thinking "tickets on a plane and load the new map" that's just so inconvenient that it's terrible.

 

I'm not rolling out the idea of a map expansion, but I'm absolutely not expecting it for current gen consoles, instead what I think they're going to do is giving us a map expansion for next gen, probably using the benefits of the SSD.

If Liberty City is the expansion, I don't think we'll get all of it.

 

I actually think it'll be like the St. Marks Bistro, where a part of the map is made. In this case, where the heist shall take place.

That'd be fun. Bit of nostalgia with it all if so, lol. Wonder what Easter eggs there could be if that did happen. And certainly be handy to not relying on randoms so folk can explore a little too.

Guys .. you are mistaking 'DLC speculation' with 'DLC wishlist'. Wishlist is something you want. And obviously, we want EVERYTHING.

Speculation is guessing what we will get. And we know all too well what we can get.

We won't get new island. We won't get Miles High. North Yankton is not designed to free roam in, we are not getting that. New location most likely means new interior.

We are sure to get cars, which will be expensive and we won't like them. We will get new OP weaponized vehicles, and we will hate them. We will get new overpriced ugly clothing in 20 kinds of camo patters, as usual. We might get some QoL updates though, that's been a thing lately. If we're lucky, we get a radio station.

Last DLC added new system for collectibles. So in Rockstar fashion no next DLC will ever use it. So no collectibles this time.

But I guess anything new is better than nothing.

Yeah if we assume its LC and they only giving as a small portion of the map (at least for now, before next gen consoles are out) the Bank of Libery makes the most sense to me as well.

And if we getting multiple heists another location could be the Museum. Since we already seen that they were remaking the central park and the museum is right next to it. Also its a location with a lot of destructible elements, perfect to be reused once again for another heist. They could even add some dino bones from RDR2 as new exhibits.

As I said on the previous page - small portion of LC for now as a tease, full map for next gen consoles just to convince people to buy the game once again. 

And ofc you would have to load to a different lobby to get a different map... so there would be no freezing issues. And whats the problem with buying a ticket for a plane? Thats just like loading to another lobby or loading any other heist we had before. Do you complain every time you have to change a lobby or load a different job? Thats literally the same thing dude.

Thats how you got to Liberty City from gtaSA and thats how you got to New Yankton from gtaV. I don't see any other alternative. 

If they adding a whole city when you launch the game you will probably have an option to "load to Los Santos" or "load to Liberty City". Simple as that.

Sounds similar? Cause thats what people used to say before we got those dlcs. Tho I 100% understand why people think that a map expansion would never happen. Sounds to good to be true.

I can agree with this. Everybody likes heists, yet I wish they gave us something new like they did when weaponized vehicles were first introduced, or with After Hours, Arena War and the casino. These were all new and cool ideas to add into the game, despite the fact that you may not like them all (especially Arena War)

I still support the theory that there will be a heist in North Yankton. A heist in LC seems strange - if they’d revamp LC to the point of it being ”heistable” they might as well just release the whole city as an expansion (which they might just do for next-gen, but I don’t think we’ll get it in a random DLC).

 

Nah. My money is still on North Yankton. Why?

 

1. They already have the map and they don’t need to make that many changes to it; just add a heist locale and a few setup missions

 

2. It’s just big enough to be the perfect setting for a heist. We’d ”fly” there while the game loads the assets, we do the heist, and when it’s done we load back in LS

 

3. As previously stated, the northern setting would fit in well with the christmas snowfall

 

4. They could even make it so that the playable character has to ”get out of dodge”/ escape the city for a while because the cops and the IRS are onto us.. it’s never been done before to our Online protagonist but a lot of the SP protagonists has had to do this

 

5. North Yankton has remained highly requested since release

 

The way I imagine it is Lester or anyone (Lester seems most likely despite his retirement) lets us know that the authorities are onto us and we have to get out of the city for a few days. Paywall intensifies. Tickets purchased, we leave for North Yankton (perfect place to lay low). While there, sh*t hits the fan like it always does and we’re drawn into yet another heist job, christmas trees and snowfall and all.

 

Pure speculation and I’m almost always wrong about these things, but I could definitely see it work.

Maybe just cut content, but i found a few months ago that they added a gfx entry to the file that lists all the interior minimap files for example, and this interior was added to the file with the casino heist, but the file itself does not exist in the files.

Maybe it's a entry that sneaked itself in from development with the next 2 dlcs already being worked on.

Here if you guys want to try to crack it...

The int in the beginning just means it's a interior, the numbers itself are the hash would give us the filename of that interior when found

mk2 is already nerfed enough. You can't call it for 5 minutes after it's destroyed and it only holds 20 rockets, plus mk2 can be easily put down with any vehicle with homing missiles. Nerfing mk2 would only mean tougher life for grinders, plus "griefers" can use other vehicles to do their stuff. The problem is not in the vehicles, the problem is in the people abusing it.

Fleeca Bank
Bolingbroke penitentiary
Humain Labs
Drug Heist for Trevor
Pacific Standard Bank
Mt. Chilliad. 
The Diamond Casino

Now, What i can think is, maybe, we get something similar to Story Mode, The Jewel Store, Merry Weather Heist, Paleto Score, The Bureau Raid or actually, The Union Depository. 

Or perhaps we will get a couple new buildings and steal from them, maybe they would open a Art Museum in LS? We rob them like the Casino with Artwork?

They will never finish it, Maybe on the standalone version of Online, but not this gen. That leak or whatever is fake as well. 

it's have to be a location or building that already exists that be expanded. I figure something like the FIB or IAA Buildings or even Fort Zancudo, maybe stuff that already exists from Story Mode.

They'd introduce it first and then put a heist in it, not the other way around.
