Okay, so let's look at this logically here. Here is Rockstar's quote from the newswire "...biggest ever update for GTA Online, featuring our latest take on Heists in an entirely new location." Let's break this down. 

 

Now, they key words here are "entirely new location" and the context that is must be considered with. In all the newswire posts announcing DLC's, Rockstar has never used that phrase before. Not with the Casino Heist. Not with DDH. Nada. Not with any update that had any map or interior alterations. So, with that context, we can rule out it as meaning a change in an location on the inside of existing buildings, like with DDH, Nightclubs, or the Casino, or even Bunkers.

 

We can also rule out the Mile High Club. The MHC has a lot of stuff happening there in regards to online that would require reworking of gang attacks, resupply missions, etc. Also finishing the MHC would not make it an "entirely new location."

 

Now, the phrase "entirely new location" should be considered in the context of GTA:O, and NOT the HD Universe as a whole. Liberty City has never appeared in GTA:O. Liberty City, at one point, was being brought up to GTA: V level graphics and whatnot, and it was an actual project to bring to GTA: O before that was scrapped. This means that some of the legwork of bringing LC to GTA: O was already been done a long time ago. I think it's either likely that Liberty City is either coming to Online, or that North Yankton is coming to online (that's a possibility as well). 

 

The final key thing here is that Rockstar knows exactly what it's doing and saying. They choose their words carefully. Which comes back around to my first point. They wouldn't say "entirely new location" unless they meant it, because they've never used that phrase before when announcing an Online DLC.

I don't know, I think they could just as easily add something substantial to some of the huge empty parts of the map. Hell, they could just park a giant cruise ship at the end of the pier and call it there.

The fact that they shared more information about the later dlc is a bit surprising, instead of promoting the summer update, we really want the latter update more. But imagine we are doing a raid on the private island of yusuf amir that he built for himself

"entirely new" location does have some odd weight to it, but judging from the age and performance of the game, I can't imagine it being too extreme, like Fortune Island in Forza or Big Mountain in New Vegas.

 

 

I'm betting it's an island similar to the one in Rdr2 that's never used beyond a couple missions.

I mean technically liberty city would be easier to run since they could make it a whole different set of servers so you wouldn't need to have both maps loaded in. Or you could just make it so liberty city is so far away it would be completely out of render distance and would basically be completely unloaded meaning there is no extra strain on the game. Plus, they technically have the map there, they just need to touch up some of the geometry, redo textures and materials, then add a couple interiors, and boom, map expansion.

Maybe, but most of the community isn't going to truly consider those to to be "new locations." 

 

Rockstar knows what it is saying and knows how it's words will be construed. That's why they are super conservative on what info they choose to give out prior to updates.

All I think about this future update after the summer one is it’s somewhere not on the map, not a prop with a blue circle, they’ve done that before and never worded something like this. I think they’ve been working on this for a while or the latest as soon as they saw the success of both casino updates

Do we even know what the theme of the summer Update will be? Interpreted their the part about the new heist DLC as it's Going to come in the Winter (most Likely December)

"Offering up a fun mix of diverse new content from the game’s massive array of experiences to enjoy" 

Hard to say but it could be some small theme and probably it is, Maybe new contact missions, new cars ,couple reskin clothes 

Maybe some small abandoned place to buy and new missions in the session?

It's really hard to predict what a rockstar will add in these updates

people saying the mile high club is the new location not being funny but when has rockstar ever mentioned a building as a new location they would just say heists this year . 

it will be lc quote me on it you forget . 

people forget lc was a planned dlc years ago they have had plenty of time to work on this if theycan port  the current map for this gen a map not even half the size and in the hd universe can be done . 

and it would be a great selling point to the next gen  everyone was pissed when gta v for ps5 was announced add lc to that it changes the picture entirely . 

the only thing that holds this theory back is the memory way around is simple this will be the final update regardless of map expansions or not for current gen  . 

so just simply adding lc to current gen is a push but is doable . 

rockstar have already confirmed updates  will continue for next gen and are making gta standalone for memory size  so people have a choice and dont have to have both on there console. 

it would be genius marketing add lc  to the last update for five on this gen to give people a taste of next gen potential what good business does give a sample to your customer to get them to buy the product

Thats true, Hopefully It's the long rumored  Cops & Crooks DLC but It could be anything at this point

Spitroasters Meathouse  is behind where I am stood, Pegasus Concierge is just off to the right, along with The Dungeon Crawler. There's also a big building with a "For Lease" sign on it just to the right of Spitroasters. Don't know if the location of the picture is relevant or not.

From the Newswire article i get the impression that the summer dlc was indeed cops and crooks/state of emergency and got scrapped.

They will probably release all the non thematic content from that update like arcade games,cars,clothes etc.

 

I am kinda bummed but ok with that since we are NOT going to wait that much for the heist/new location update.

 

July is almost over so they are not going to release the summer update till August. The 8th month of the year...

 

Worst case scenario we get the Heist dlc around the end of the year. That's only 4 months of waiting!! The hard part is over guys.

I am honestly starting to think that the reddit leak post is actually real, a lot of sh*t is lining up after this announcement. After we see the actual contents of the update we can confirm if it’s true or not.

It may be a coincidence, but some things match

 - "Final Grand Theft Auto Online update scheduled in December 2020, it's a new heist"  We don't know if this will be the last update, but in my opinion the add-ons will be released until the premiere of GTA VI, if we add what records have recently been breaking, it will not be the last update

 

- "Also, he said that they are planning to release the GTA V for PS5 and update it with "singleplayer DLC". That DLC is nothing more than just added Online content to Story mode"   Looking from the post it was added 2 months ago, here too he managed to predict, or knew from someone. If they add some cars from online to a single, they can still use the name enhanced and expanded even if they do not change too much

The summer update is of a mediocre quality, I think Rockstar is keeping quiet until we approach the release date.

They have a deathmatch(pillbox hill) in the construction area that would have to be removed doubtfull they would do that.Not to mention if it was just a building remodeled added alot of people would be pissed.I know i would be.

Lester bought a private island with all the money he made by casino heist, got connection to political and media giants, and started doing some messed up sht there... In this last heist update we finally heist from Lester once and for all
