At what point was it ever established that the objective of the game was to continuously earn money ad infinitum? GTA Online doesn't have an objective, it's just a way for people to play Grand Theft Auto but with other people. There's vehicles and property to buy but that doesn't make earning money the objective of the game. I've played GTA legitimately but I can assure you I don't feel any difference between a car bought 'legit' and one bought with glitched cash. I have just as much fun with either of them.

I can guarantee that my all that in game time certainly wasn't spent doing the same fetch quest for a week straight.

Idk about you pal but 40 in game days sounds like a significant amount of time if thats what you need to be able to buy everything comfortably.

40 game days seems like a long time until you factor in that the game has been out for 7 years. Many people have played hundreds of hours at this point.

 

In 40 game days I can already afford everything I want with no risk of being banned. That's a piece of mind that glitchers/cheaters don't have and many of them are finding that out today.

 

 

Also a car bought legitimately means a heck of a lot more when you earned it than buying it with cheated money. I would take 50 million legit over 2 billion cheated any day of the week.

This has to be the worst pr possible at a time when RDO has no fixes for bugs that are game breaking. Rockstar pulls this...this game company is not what it used to be.  The game is 6 years old...no one who got reset is going to have a problem..most these people have 3 accounts.  Even if they only have 1 account, this is probably taking out the most hardcore players...good job. 

 

On top of that,this is the worst time to have done this...there are literally 100s of car dupe glitches.  Why are they wasting time fixing money glitches in game where money means nothing?  I dont even play this game anymore and dont plan to, but knowing this what they are wasting their time on is pretty much...exactly what it seems like they are doing.

I do agree with you regarding RDRO's laundry list of issues, and that it's a testing time for many fans with how things have gone since online here grew so huge. But I disagree that it's poorly timed or bad PR.

 

We're in a period where R* are giving money away most likely for the investor calls and to bump numbers up, it might see many look to pop on and check their accounts just in case, lol. Plus, if folk do lose some of their stash, with DLC surely looming, it might see some stay if the 2x appeals etc. Or to find other methods to bump their bank - With some potentially thinking 'I ain't doing that, I'll buy a card and skip earning cash' - Doubtful, but I wouldn't rule anything out given how many have bought GTA, even if it's just one extra card sold among the 100m copies, lol.

lol "the most hardcore players." try a bunch of drooling 12 year olds that don't have the attention span to play correctly for 5 minutes and want everything in the game "right now". 

 

Either way what do you want Rockstar to do let them cheat? Hell I hope Rockstar resets all of them. The game is better off without a bunch of 12 year old griefers on a MK2 they bought from a glitch they found on Reddit/YouTube. They can play fair like the rest of us,  If they don't like it they can go back to Fortnite.

But cheating in a gta game is part of the gta experience rockstar. "With GTA Online, rockstar games is looking to bring the heart of the grand theft auto experience to the living online world with multiple players."

No, patch their broken game as they have for all $ glitches and remove the money, as they have for a few other money glitches.  Instead of fixing the newest game they are catering to shareholders and blowhards, money in this game is meaningless when you allow 100s of car dupes.  Most glitcher players are hard core many have several accounts to ensure that this thing cant wipe them fully.

The worst part of it is the fact that they didn't even patch the chips glitch itself, just punished those that took advantage of one aspect of their broken game.

RDRO is as bad for leaving glitches unpunished though. A real shame as along with the many other issues, that game is just not good enough to me and many I feel in it's current state.

 

Although I thought it was only natural for a publicly traded company to serve their shareholders best interests (unfortunately for us gamers at times), and it seems GTA is rocking wild and T2 are obliged to follow the money.

 

Speculation of course, but if these forums are any indicator, RDRO just doesn't have the vibe this game has as it goes very quiet and almost dead over the other side of here. Even during DLC phases or Tunabowl Tuesday's, it doesn't come alive too much, while a flinch of info see's this section boom, including a money wipe spell like this or Mach making up DLC rumours. Crazy really as R* have the winning formula for one but can't seem to replicate it over there.

 

I wish RDRO could have the appeal GTA still has for me like it's story mode does. But without choices and options to remove bad sports from my game, it's dying far quicker than it should have.

Oh my bad I misread your post, they definitely need to fix the glitches but the people that did them deserve to have their characters reset completely.

Nobody else is affected either when I leisurely ride one car out of my collection in an empty lobby except the money hungry corporation.

 

And no one else is affected when I give 100% of my share of VIP Work to a low level player struggling to get by in this cash grab of a game.

 

Except, of course, the money hungry corporation.

This is a new low for them... its actually not a good idea to piss off the player base because the shareholders will be impacted in the long run...I bet the next GTAO is going to be trash.  It is going to be micro transactions in story mode level.  They are gonna have to re-release V on next gen because every one wont give up their accounts that they "grinded" for and have to deal with all the game breaking bugs of their system are put on display with their next online.  Meanwhile "the bear with us gaize" pleas are not going to be tolerated when they are wiping 6 year old accounts for doing some stupid money glitch from a casino that was not added for years because they kniw players would probably be able to cheat at it.

Is it really your money to give though given you didn’t earn it?

Also I own everything and give 85% cuts frequently in heists (much more than your paltry 35k max) and I actually earned all my money!

And one day Rockstar will take most of it away unfortunately for you. Best get ready for when that day comes, the servers won't be up forever.

Well now, that's interesting. I guess whatever the latest chip glitch was it was easy to track. You could say it was a reckless gamble for those who attempted it.

 

Although I have to say the whole deleted progress thing really hurts. Like, all those trinkets, trophies, limited edition clothing, car liveries and such... Ouch. Sometimes I wonder if cash or progress reset actually does deter cheaters. I mean, if it hits someone innocent (Smuggler's Run money wipe that affected a lot of people for no reason) it might cause the opposite and make them cheat more.

 

It's a strange subject really.

My goal has always been to own everything legit...if I’ve achieved that by the endgame you’re speaking of then I’m good with that.
