Money wipe

Now that I think of it, I feel very nervous that I may get money wiped and reset even though I never ever money glitched or done the Act 2 finale replay glitch before. I'm fully legit and play on console yet I'm still worried I'll get wiped and reset.

I was one of the many legit players to lose almost everything during the Rockstar maintenance period back in June 2018 due to a server bug. The only things I had left at the time was my outfits, money, rank, the three high end apartments and vehicles in the garage that I bought back in last gen and transferred over. I filed a ticket and after a few days, I got everything back from current gen cars, weaponized vehicles and planes I bought, all my businesses and Yacht. Ever since that day every time I log in to GTA Online, I fear of getting reset and losing everything. That reinforced my belief that glitching is risky and not worth doing and I will never include money glitches in my money making guide.

I get why people money glitch, its because they don't have the time to grind or everything is too expensive but I'm making a solo money making guide for new and well set players, it'll be up soon.

If you want to money glitch, it's up to you but you run the risk of getting wiped and reset.

All I'd have to do is show them the screenshot of the 130 million I've made from crate sales.

Nobody in their right mind grinds 130 million worth of crates and then decides to glitch the game. lol

I would say 90 percent of griefers glitched their money,

I would disagree with that. Griefing doesn't cost anything when you have all your money on your second character. Also the jet is free from the military base and the MK2 is pretty easy to get without glitching.

1 hour ago, GTAMamba said:

glitchers are also the reason the prices are so high for each DLC

I disagree with this as well. Sharkcards are the reason prices are so high. If people didn't buy sharkcards and spend that money on the overpriced stuff in Ill-Gotten Gains then R* would have gone back to the days when all cars were under a million so people would buy sharkcards. Why would they keep increasing the prices if less people were buying sharkcards?

1 hour ago, GTAMamba said:

If they had to actually earn their money like the rest of us I guarantee griefing would be much less common.

I guarantee you would be wrong. If there was never a single money glitch then griefers would grind out enough money for a MK2 or would just buy a sharkcard to get it. Griefers enjoy ruining peoples fun and they are going to do that no matter what.

I did exactly that. I was level 200 on both characters, owned every business and a fair collection of (weaponized) vehicles and grinded legit, no glitching. Then Doomsday heist released and I learned of the Bogdan glitch. Let's just say, I updated my grinding routine a bit.

That’s mighty impressive I’ve made less than that for sure...probably about 70 across both characters...made over half of that last week though lol

Ive made over 150m from I/E...around 400 full bunker sales on one character and 50 maybe on the other...crazy money on the casino heist of late like many people...running three every night with me using both characters...the Preps are easy I run them while my 2 year old is napping.

I definitely earn a lot from my contact mission playlist as I farm them for RP too when they’re double.

I don't agree with this, sure plenty of people online say that but what are they gonna replace it with? There is literally no other game like it, that's why it's 2020 and there's still thousands upon thousands of new players.

I know plenty of people who stopped playing because they didn't like the grind. Most of those who stuck around did the Bogdan glitch at one point or another. My most active friend plays on a modded account.

From Rockstar's perspective the people who stopped playing may not matter because there are still plenty of new players. But grinders don't really matter to Rockstar either because they don't buy shark cards.

@GAUNTLET HELLFIRE an oppressor mk2 is an expensive investment alone but to upgrade the weapons you need a terrabyte...to own that you need a Nightclub...it’s a huge investment and I can only think of one reason so many dickheads have a full on easy mode one...it’s not their ability to grind that’s for sure.

You are wrong. I have had a lot of people destroying my cargo and then later selling their own cargo with their friends protecting them. Probably 40% of the people that have destroyed my cargo have sold their own cargo before or after selling their own. I have seen a lot of people sell their bunker and then go around for a couple of hours killing other players and destroying their cargo and then leaving the session probably to sell their bunker again.

I’ve seldom seen either of those occurrences and have been playing since launch...people destroying cargo are never selling theirs...I’m sorry it’s very hard to believe.

Grinding is not a difficult thing to do. Someone only interested in griefing can easily grind out enough money for an upgraded MK2 in a week with 2x bonuses and then spend the rest of their time in game just griefing or just spend $100 on a sharkcard and buy it.

I stopped playing for 6+ months after getting bored of the grind and came back when I found good glitches.

Just yesterday I joined a session and saw someone selling their bunker and later on that same guy destroyed my I/E vehicle. People that only do bunker, MC businesses and the nightclub need something to do when they are waiting and some do destroy cargo and grief people and then just find a new session when it is time to sell again.

It costs almost 8m taking the cheapest route to an oppressor mk2 upgraded with missiles...

You’re telling me someone who doesn’t have any businesses is going to grind that without losing patience...they’re all way more likely to glitch that money because the toxicity goes hand in hand with laziness...and grinding that amount of money takes me a few days it would take them weeks...they’d have to stay out of Freeroam and actually play the game.

Let's get back to money wipes and account resets because this topic is relatively new and interesting, as opposed to conjecture about who is right or wrong.

A lot of people will be really sad this weekend, and as a human, dad, etc., I feel a lot of sympathy for people who want everything the amazing GTA online has to offer, but have since had it all taken away. However, these people cheated on a major level for potentially billions of GTA$, and although they don't deserve to be smashed against the rocks, it had to happen and I'm glad Rockstar did it.

What's new to me, though, is account resets, not money wipes. I read the comments on Sins about "potentially being banned or wiped", but read no mention of resets, and I don't think many other people were expecting it either. If Rockstar had gone for money wipes only, they're not a major problem because devious players would already have bought every available asset, plus 100 Vigilantes on their second character to sell back at 230 million in cash, and banning people is way over the top because it stops gamers from playing GTA online forever. On the other hand, resetting accounts is a harsh yet really succinct solution: you can still play, but have to start all over again. Imagine waking up to that yesterday morning! Nasty, nasty Rockstar 😲.

Nobody grinds up enough money to buy the Nightclub, Terrobyte, MK2, the MK2 upgrades, and THEN decides to glitch.

They glitch because they want everything right away without the work and they don't have the attention spans to play a game correctly and set a goal to achieve.

When I first got the game I grinded VIP work/Client jobs to buy the cash factory and fill it up. My first sale I got half the product blown up by an idiot on a MK2 that glitched his money. You want to know how I know he glitched his money? Because he told me, "you should just glitch like I did."

That's the portion of the community people in this thread are promoting. I never would have thought that promoting playing a game without cheating would be the UNPOPULAR opinion.

Either way my number is that 90% of griefers glitched their money and I'm sticking to it. I know everyone here that glitched their money are Angel's that only use their cheated money to help low levels make money lmao but that simply hasn't been my experience playing this game.

Rockstar haven't taken that route because they want most people to keep on playing their game. Money wipes isn't a strong enough solution any more, and banning is too strict, whereas account resets sit nicely in between.

Once again, my sympathies to people out there who have had their GTA online worlds literally destroyed this weekend. Many of these people are kids, new to the game or simply naive, just looking for shortcuts to enjoy 100% GTA online. But it had to happen!

It's the same thing when glitchers say they don't grief, they just use the glitched money to drive around in their cars or whatever. I simply don't believe those people as you don't even have to glitch to do that. Who risks being banned just to drive a car down to the pier?

We have 2 character and room for what 300 cars? People that glitch their money for cars aren't going to have 2 or 3 cheap cars they are going to have a full collection of supers, sports, muscles etc and buying almost every car is damn expensive and on top of that you also have all the upgrades plus the people that collect cars will spends hundreds of thousands on different whells and paint on a single car until they get it the way the want it.

2 hours ago, GTAMamba said:

My favorite is when they say they spend their time helping others sell. It's like really? You hated those jobs so much you were willing to risk being banned now you're going to help someone else sell for a fraction of the money?

Some will protect randoms when they sell. I won't help anyone with anything related to businesses but I take a 15% cut when doing the casino heist. Some people that glitch are decent people that are happy to help others.

2 hours ago, GTAMamba said:

No, they glitch money with the mindset of buying a bunch of murder machines to kill/mess with other people in free roam, so they can go on Reddit and brag about their KD ratio like it matters in a game like this. Not always, but 90% of the time that's the situation.

You should really stop making assumptions about things you have no idea about. There are plenty of people that glitch their money so they can have a nice vehicle collection. I glitch my money so I can buy everything in a dlc on both characters while playing low paying jobs or just screwing around in freeroam.

Depending on the discounts/bonuses available it might actually make sense for a new player to go for the NC/Terrorbyte first, because VIP work + TB client jobs is one of the best active grinds in the game. Also any new grinder should get an Oppressor Mk II with missiles as soon as possible, because it can be used for literally every business mission in the game and speeds them up significantly. I don't use it much because I tend to have more specific or fun tools for the job at hand, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't recommend the Mk II to new players.

Its roughly 8million dollars...whats the most expensive shark card give you again?  Shark cards are why no one cares about in game bank balance because it lets you skip ahead.  I am glad you decided to play legit, most people here do not condone glitching here and I am pretty sure you can get banned if you actually encourage it.  Your opinion is actually in the majority here as well.

Again making assumptions. Plenty of glitchers do play DM, LTS, missions etc and glitch because they don't pay out enough to actually be able to afford everything without playing 10+ hours again.
