Word on the street is that rockstar have ‘adjusted bank balances’ today for a recent glitch involving casino chips.

 

personally, I think they should seize assets too, but they never do. So the savvy will have 90 deluxos and a dozen bombushkas on 2nd characters to jumpstart thier economy’s in the morning

Dang! With the warm weather down here and seeing that picture there, I do miss the seaside and a good bit of tucker.

 

As to the topic at hand. Could mean a DLC is closer if wipes are going on and it's a more widespread thing. Would be nice to have something fresh.

I ain't no stranger to doing money glitches, but even I knew that one was more than a tad too risky. The sinful forum even put a warning for that glitch. I thought about doing it on my dummy second account but never got around to it. But like you said, anyone with half a functioning brain would've put their chips into assets they can sell later.

Oh yea btw, they are reseting accounts this time, not just "adjusting bank balances", so there's none of that.

They are resetting the accounts. I think it depends on the amount. 100 million is likely a wipe but 500 million and above is a full reset.

@GTAJJ, could it be that instead of how much people took, but if they kept the cash/chips, they get wipes but if they bought bonds and a large amount of property that they get the full ban?

 

Maybe R* caught on to that as it's a bit of a no brainer for anyone with a bit of common sense to launder the cash.

nah, I know a guy who has made 5 mill from that glitch and got entirely reset.

Rockstar isn't playing this time, and to be fair with you, a glitch like that was obviously dangerous to do.

 

Now, to the Rockstar Logic out of this, the glitch is still unpatched.

Well, here's the thing with this one right? it happened before and nobody got reset, so the clueless got confident that it's not going to happen.

but everyone who's smart enough knows that this is very traceable, especially after it happened (and got patched) before, they have probably put measures to track that, which also explains why some people who haven't done this one but done the first one, now got a reset handed to them.

That's bizarre. I think it's more on what you're transactions are with the glitched money. It might not be necessarily the amount but the investments you do with it.

 

Glitching 5 million and buying a car to resell after the wipe could be reset worthy whereas glitching 500 million and buying paint jobs or non returnable items is a wipe. Just my assumption.

That is my understanding. If you launder it into returnable investments, you get a reset.

and that's just a number I made up, I have seen videos of people making billions and trillions in minutes with that glitch.

Good, I'm out here selling cars for 80 grand every 20 minutes and half the community is out there pulling in 500 million in a week like nothing. Unfortunately this won't fix the big problem which is Rockstar's horrible anticheat.

 

It'll be less then a week before there will be another glitch pop up.

Wow I didnt know about till right now that I read this. Kids making Billions while I'm here with a still measly 10 million in my pocket grinding and grinding to the bone on my fingers. Im glad, you know what. Ban their asses from joining back online through their account profiles. Yes I know they can make another one, but you think theses lazy fools are gonna grind that sh*t out. Nope.

Cause the handful of people who exploited their money totally wont do it again. Every year has the one major exploit a bunch of players do. The silly players who only did the locate plane trick but didnt know anything about the tricks to keep the money after should of learned not to do a big exploit again. Cant blame people for exploits but if you get reset at this point its on you. Jusy silly they finally care about exploits what 6.5 years later and only reset people this time. Could name a few dozens big exploits people have done but got nothing taken. Them doing it now shows the next dlc is around the corner.

Some of these people have done this same chips glitch when it was around a few months ago, that's why they were confident that they wouldn't get wiped.

A whole different one, this glitch involved being able to "purchase" an unlimited amount of chips from the casino cashier's desk. I'm not totally sure how it exactly worked as I didn't attempt this one, but that's the gist of it.

Do they also wipe people that got money dropped on them on PC, what happens if a modder dropped like 10 millions on you, how long does it take for them to wipe it ?

I did once buy a couple of rusty rebels, and put chrome wheels on them that added 50k to the value but cost nothing ..... my bad..

 

put that 100k blood money towards my first carbonizairre  (which I still own!). Sills are starting to rust now tho
