2 random helicopters attacked me and didn’t show up on map. What’s going on?

Just randomly driving to my garage, haven’t even been in the lobby that long, and 2 choppers start attacking me with machine guns. They didn’t appear on the map at all and I didn’t see a player name above them when I looked at them (before I died). Any clue on what this could be?

Somebody elses NPC enemies maybe? What kind of helicopters were they?

Yes, probably some NPCs that spawned to attack somebody during a mission. (car source/gunrunning sell) They tend to be hostile to all players in the lobby, not just the one they spawned on. And they only appear on the radar to their target. Sometimes they go after the wrong player who is at the wrong place at the wrong time.

It certainly was not an off-radar player shooting helicopter guns at you.
