Turns out it was his PSU btw... Oof.

Latest RGSC/Launcher patch seems to have fixed my launcher crash issue. Or maybe it was the latest Windows Insider Build...

No, the RAM OC was just the RAM OC, I think it had been unstable for longer than I thought, but I guess the PSU issue may have exacerbated it.

Anyone having frame rate issues when loading straight into online? It would be all choppy until I reapply the full-screen graphic setting which returns the FPS back to normal. Loading straight into SP has no frame rate issues.

Nope, can't say I've had that (I assume you mean loading straight from landing page to online). Do you have Game Mode enabled in Windows? It can mess with stuff like vsync and such which could cause that.

anyone can play with ultra textures with vulcan on GPU with 4GB of Vram ? before this update i was able to play normally on GTX 970 but now it ask for more vram for ultra textures even with high texture there are another issue with streaming the texture but with dx12 i have no issue at all except that dx12 is slower than vulcan

They just need to fix the remaining crashes and add the 30+ FPS currently missing in optimization, then balance Red Dead Online and RDR2 is golden.

Maybe, they might be moving it to another branch so it's ready to release and doing more work on the qabeta3 branch. Could be a patch either tomorrow or Monday possibly?

I’ve found that Vulkan is yielding much smoother performance on a GTX 970 than DX12, even though Rockstar have put much higher graphics memory requirements on Vulkan. Since the latest patch the game has locked me out of the settings when Vulkan's enabled so I’m having to change settings externally with a text editor.

 

Still surprised at the quality you can wring out of an old card like this.

i have the same problem and the same gpu and currently playing with dx12 , with vulkan even if you reduce the texture to be with the memory limits the game can't use more than 3GB of vram that will make some areas to be slow to render while you play specially in saint danis  if you go there and look around you will find that so texture pops up

Vulkan demands much more VRAM, and also utilizes only 3GB of VRAM??? :wtf:

They removed smoke on ultra intentionally. I forgot what the issue was that people were complaining about, but that's how the dealt with the complaints.

I posted about that. It was removed intentionally in response to complaints people had about the smoke. I forget what the complaint was since that was long ago.
