I had to pull these two sentences out as they are absolutely spot on and something I strongly relate to.

 

I spend more time with my son because we share similar game which makes for a great bonding and I get to talk to him away from his mum about men things, lol. Equally with the Mrs on other games we both like too, though less talking about men stuff, ha ha. I would my daughter but she hates gaming, but we have other things like our shared love of horror movies to enjoy together, so she gets plenty of dad time.

 

But also, that's a key reason why much of what I do in GTA or any game really has felt like a grind. Even when we did properly grind to unlock the Go Go Blista, I was on the mic with 2 of the 3 others I was with (and texting the other chap) and the time just flew by at times. It's amazing how much I/we can do when on auto-pilot in a game while chatting sh*t with someone, lol.

 

This lockdown period has also seen me on the PlayStation with IRL friends and family that are stuck indoors like me at the moment, much like Skype or similar, we often started playing something (and I've bought a couple of games they play to indulge more) but ended up just chatting around and passing the mic about the house with the family.

 

Bloody awesome really when thinking back to the blitz or something from past eras where people had far less entertainment and communication at their fingertips and often couldn't find out family news until long after something happens.

The thing is, grinding is playing in GTA and that's why you are thinking that I'm judging. This game is designed to make you grind and the grind is bad. I'm not against video games per se, it's the grind I can't support. I have grinded a lot in GTAO, solo and with the crew, but the best memories are from actually wrecking chaos and doing batsh*t crazy stuff. When was it? Hell, probably 2014-15. Even doing heist glitches was fun.
