GTA III - Is there a fix for the misaligned timer/counter during some missions?

During certain missions such as "Rampage" and "Trial By Fire", the countdown clock and kill counter below aren't centered the same as the normal time/health/money display. I think the centering may be different because the number of digits isn't locked in place by empty 0s as the other displays.  It's especially noticeable since the colon overlaps the numbers.

Is there any way to fix this?
