I have been playing gta 5 for 1 year now. I have am I innocent player. I am not a modder, i've never bullied or stopped someone's fun in mission or game experience. I was recently playing around with my friend, we were killing each other and just having fun. Later on the next morning and I logged on. I was on pc. And my friend, was just suspended all the way till may 31 2020. And I logged on and so was my account suspended. this is not fair. I didnt do anything wrong. Maybe a issue in anti cheat because I did have OBS open. But idk. All my players and level and ownership in my houses, or cars will reset.

Lol. Like this kind of story hasnt been told before. PC play = anticipated risk of banishment. Your a trlarget by *R by nature.

Found your problem, buddy. If you were on a public lobby chances are someone boosted your account in some way. I don't know much about PC's anti-cheat system but if it is sh*t then even something as simple as your RGB or an overlay like OBS/Afterburner can flag you. Your best chance is to submit a ticket to prevent you from losing anything. If you do, cheat, it's not like they care about modders on PC

over the years i have read this type of stories many times and the common demoninator is the platform...PC

while im sure pc offers a lot of benefits when it comes to mods and stuff, i wont dare playing a R* game(online mode) on pc given the fact this is a very common issue, months or years of progress can go to waste if something as little as a overlay, video capture software etc could trigger a flag and you end up losing everything with very little chance of R* restoring your stuff.

Well, thats the risk of playing on PC I guess.

Everytime I log in I fully expect to be greated with "Your banned because we feel like it, your sh*t is gone, f*ck off."

Thats why I hate their 1 ban = reset policy. It has done jacksh*t against cheating since the cheaters do not care about their accounts and because the automated anti cheat is sh*t made legit people loose their progress.

Although its highly unlikely, submit a ticket to try and get the ban lifted if you are innocent, as you say.

If you happen to get noticed in the pile of millions of "plz unban me plz", and it can be verified that you were banned without reason, then good.

However, you have more chance walking on the moon.

Just to clarify -

Modders can't "boost" your account on PC anymore - not for a while. They'd need access to your account to do anything really. The only thing they can do whilst you're in the session with them is give you a money drop - if Rockstar Staff enter the session upon that happening, they might take a zero tolerance policy and ban not only the person dropping money but also the people picking it up (that's been known to happen a few times, more so over the last year or whatever).

Overlays like OBS / Afterburner / Discord etc aren't causing bans either. They may have done at one point in the past in some isolated cases, but that doesn't happen nowadays.

On topic - it's curious that there's very few other people seemingly getting a "random ban" and what I've been hearing and reading lately is that there have been some extra detections based on people cheating the Arcade or Nightclub safes in the last few weeks.

@Gaffa

Well they can "boost" your account by directly injecting money into your pocket. Had 2 or 3 people do that to me after calling them out for using godmode and teleport, probably trying to get me banned.

I was luckily able to switch sessions fast enough so the amounts were low enough to not look out of place.

They can't even do that, it's just spoofed cash.
Any money you see directly added to your bank can't be used or doesn't stick - restarting the game or finding a new session results in your originally balance being restored.

If there was some way to remotely give cash to another player that didn't involve cash drops, there'd at the very least be some talk about that.

Reminds me of how game companies continue putting drm in their games which only affect actual people buying the game and pirates will still you know pirate it. It doesn't work, it never will work.

Or the film companies who tried to make it hard for people to not copy video tapes, which only wasted the people who actually bought its time. And people still copied them.

Or the music companies who think file sharing legally bought music is stealing and always complain about it, besides screwing over the artists.

The one ban and you get f*cked over is more dumb than those 3 combined. Ban the people who actually bought the game, while you do jack sh*t about the actual people cheating. There is a reason everyone knows that rockstar sucks when it comes to anti-cheat, especially on pc. They have been this way for over 10 years.

Call me crazy but I'm pretty sure it stayed.

There is/used to be (?) such a method in 2018, my old account got hit by that. While hanging in the clouds there was a cha-ching sound and a message appeared about getting the money - I think those were 100k steps. The message used for this was the one you get when you help the CEO sell a car for I/E.

And no, it stayed in my bank account.

So this all comes down to one of two points:

1) You are indeed a cheater... stop lying pls

2) If not contact Rockstar support, they will surely help you out.

They probably wont since most tickets regarding bans get autoreplied and closed by the bot.

I'd have to see proof of that to believe it, only considering none of the "top menus" have such a function and nobody's talking about it.

Yeah that's in the past bud, there's no such method like that now.

So i'm safe using RGB mouse for example? Planned on maybe buying one, but i'm always cautious with everything when it comes to GTA Online, because i still remember ban wave on PC in march or april of 2018. when a lot of players where banned and i doubt all of them were modders. I started playing  in february same year and that left sour taste and fear everytime it took longer time to load in session or when there was message from R* giving me free promo $.

I also asked if using songs from custom radio that are not purchased or even using custom crew colors would be bannable.

Now i remember they even joke on custom radio about tracks being pirated and can't count how many times i used custom crew colors, so it was all in all safe. PC is really vulnerable platform where it comes to anti-cheat and anyone could be not so lucky to get flagged and suspended for 1 month which would mean loosing everything and if that happened to me i would simply stop playing, but it would feel like someone took a part of a life from me, because months and years wasted on grinding plus there really is no game like GTA Online on the market.

Every time i start playing, just to be safe, i turn off anti-virus and any other program i have on background, although i use discord occasionally  and afterburner few times without any issue.

Yeah you're fine. I use Afterburner, Riva Tuner, Streamlabs OBS, Discord, HyperX and other monitoring stuff in the background to keep an eye on the PC and it's been fine up to now.
