Do the NPCs use the same handling model as the player (III, VC, SA)?

This question is about the Renderware games.

 

The driving NPCs often make very tight turns incredibly fast without losing grip, but I can only remember seeing this with the standard traffic.

Earthbound

When uninterupted they follow a traffic pattern which allows them to turn on a dime, but when interupted their car will handle as per the handling line.

 

If you want to test this, in GTA3, modify the handling line of a vehicle to make it super quick and then shoot at that vehicle with an NPC inside. Enjoy.

Interestingly enough, this is still in the HD universe. GTA V even has a aihandling.meta along with the default handling.meta.

Thanks for the confirmation, I was about to ask this as I haven't played IV and V in years. But as I recall the movement of the NPC cars is more reasonable, not prone to cause as much crashes with the player when turning.
