Hiding cargo

Probably old news to most here but did you know that starting Vip work (headhunter, haulage etc) hides cargo for every other player in the lobby until it’s complete. So get your friends to start a Vip job and not finish it, or you help them, or help anyone on the map.

Are you sure it's not just the player that has started it that can't see the cargo?

On a similar vein I am constantly amazed at the number of people (of quite high levels too) that use Lester's off the radar when lugging cargo/driving I/O vehicles thinking it works. The only way to hide your blip when you are carrying any kind of valuables is ghost org (or Akula), paying for OTR is a complete waste of money.

Not quite right on that one, chap!

Freemode players can only take part in one event at a time, whether it's shipping Special Cargo, doing a Business Battle, VIP work, or something else, so, if you get an alert about someone Shipping Special cargo across the map, but are within range of someone who starts up Headhunter, you'll get an alert about the latter instead, but anyone not in the range of Headhunter will carry on seeing the Special Cargo blip. It all depends where you are on the map and what you're up to, as people doing their own missions such as Heist Preps, collecting coke/weed, etc., will not get the Special Cargo alert, which is why lobbies are often full of players but no-one troubles you. The problem is, many players hang about with the sole objective of disrupting other players; therefore, don't take the risk of SELLING Special Cargo in busy lobbies. If you lose Special Cargo, you lose EVERYTHING.

They probably won't believe you, thinking you're just out to fool them into giving away their postiion so you can blow them up.

@Jenkiiii I’m going to have one person who has my back just to be safe and will sell 9 full warehouses this week for around 43.5m in public lobbies.

I always sell in populated lobbies for the bonus.

I sourced 171 crates today

The Akula is so cool. What a shame we can't select it for delivery missions!

Those numbers give me PTSD, lol. Fair play of course, and the $43m or so is pretty staggering, respect. But I just can't anymore. 🤣🤣

Glad you're enjoying the game!

Not quite on your scale, buddy, but last night I sold a large Special Cargo warehouse for 4.44 million, followed by two special items for $490,000, then my bunker and nightclub, raking in about 6 million before I paid my 48-minute fees. How people fail to make money in this game is beyond me?

Haha I thought I was doing well, filling 2 large warehouses to 50% in one day playing on and off throughout.

I wouldn’t say what I’m doing is a good thing guys lol

the reason it’s 9 and not 10 btw is my small warehouse on character one is a special item showcase on vinewood Boulevard.

Im gonna full em all on my secondary then on my primary then sell em all.

I am probably one one of the few that finds cratework quite theraputic and can happily sit there doing it repeatedly - the only negative is some strain pain on my 50 year old neck muscles due to the way I hold the controller after a couple of hours at a time. 😉

Well, you could go to the cinema or go for lunch at McDonalds :D. Not a great deal of options at the moment besides devouring the entire Netflix catalogue.

I turn off the in game music and listen to cds which I never do and it makes it chill I guess.

I listened to Drop The Lime Fabric CD and Richy Ahmed’s rinse cd today and then some Boards Of Canada lps

My wife’s working from home atm...I save most shows to watch with her.

We are watching the walking dead from start to finish on Prime...seems apt

At 52, the muscle in my left shoulder causes an electric shock to course down my left arm and into my hand due to the way the controller is held from bottom-up, instead of from top-down like on a keyboard. I had a stroke 18 months ago, and fortunately still retain about 75% feeling on my left side, so the electric niggle is reassuring in a way :D. Thanks GTA, you've done so much for me 🤣.

The little beeps the office computer makes when you buy special cargo are unique to that business. I'm sure many that achieve the gold trophy (myself included) wouldn't have made it if it weren't for those sounds.

From a Reddit user

If you want to hide someone else's cargo for them, all you need to do is

Video of it working: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jtb0vgCJAt0

Step 1: start any VIP work

Step 2: don't finish it.

Step 3: Not only will you not be able to see anyone elses cargo, but no one else in the lobby will be able to see anyone else's cargo for the duration of the vip work.

But it only blocks people in the area of the VIP work. I think haulage is sessionwide though. And head hunter should be started in the middle of the map so the targets are spread out all over the map

So be a nice guy and start VIP when someone else is selling their product, and spare them from being griefed.

EDIT: Basically if you are doing VIP work you cannot sell cargo, but during your VIP work, whilst the timer is active, NO cargo will be visible *on the map* to anyone in the lobby at all.... Which means if you sell cargo during someone else's VIP work ( like haulage or headhunter) your cargo will be ghosted to the entire lobby. You will still be visible and if you are flying a helicopter, the helicopter icon will be over your character, but the red icon that indicates cargo will not be visible to anyone

I don't really know...I've never sold cargo in a public session but I thought maybe someone would benefit from this.  I know about the nice bonus you get and this seems legit...and pretty fool proof.  I suppose Rockstar will be calling an unpaid intern to patch this after they reset the alarm bells at corporate.

How to hide cargo from griefers in a public session eh?

Solo public! Perfectly hidden.

Sorry I had to. I'll show myself out.

Where did you get that number? Last time I checked, there's a 25% cap on high demand bonus so a full large crate warehouse should get you 1.11m.

I'm on PC so I'm not going to risk certain death for 25% bonus, not with all the modders.

If I were on console I would restart sales and source 3 crates back until I got the Tug Boat (with upgrades of course) and then finish it using Ghost Org.

I’ve had 2.85 before for sure but never got more than 5 when double before
