Minecraft question: how to switch world back from snapshot to stable release?

Any Minecraft (Java edition) players in here? I have a question about snapshots, which are weekly beta versions containing new stuff from a future release that you can try out in advance.

 

I've been building a world with "latest snapshot" enabled in the launch options but, since snapshots tend to mess up your world with bugs and stuff, I would like to stop using snapshots. However, my world (=save file) contains new stuff from the snapshots that aren't in the current (stable) release yet, so I'm worried that changing my launch settings from "latest snapshot" to "latest release" will corrupt my save.

 

My current plan is to wait for the new release (version 1.16 a.k.a. the Nether update), which will contain all (or most of) the stuff that was in the current snapshots and then switch my launch option from "latest snapshot" to "latest release", so that my world will be loaded in the newest stable version of the game (before any post-1.16 snapshots will be available). It may still cause problems but to me it seems like the safest way to "move" my world from the snapshot version to the stable release version.

 

Is this the way to go or not? I don't want to corrupt my saved world because I've spent ages building it. What do you advise me to do?
