Dark - Netflix

Was bored with quarantine and was wondering if there were any other fans of this gem here.

 

For me, it's personally my favourtie show of all time. Everything from the setting, the theme, the characters, the acting, the little details, the absolute mindf*ck is brilliant. It all ties in so very well. Honestly without giving away too much, I highly reccommend anybody who hasn't seen to watch it, it starts off slowly, for about 4 episodes (but these are absolutely vital for character development as you'll see later on) but later it just picks up so fast.

 

I understand this show has been getting some popularity recently, at least in India, but I watched it many months ago, way before a lot of people knew about it and hence was lucky to avoid spoilers so yeah if you plan on watching it be careful browsing social media for a while.

 

The ending of season 2 was... interesting. Honestly, as brilliant as the first two seasons are, I just hope they don't f*ck up the third season. It seems to be a recurring theme that netflix shows lose steam as seasons progress (stranger things, 13 reasons why, black mirror... etc) but I hope dark proves to be the exception.

 

Edit: And I can't stress enough how important it is to watch with english subs and not english dubs. I've never been a fan of dubbing for any foreign film or show (with the exception of the death note anime) and this is no different.

This for sure. There are no exceptions. 

 

I watched most of Dark season 1 about a year ago. I was enjoying it but watching it alone. Before I picked it back up my friend turned me off it by saying it wasn't good. And I really respected his opinion as we both love mostly the same films and TV but he also has a masters in screenwriting. I was all ready distracted but I might just pick it up again and watch it for myself. 

 

You might include a trailer in your thread next time,  because not everyone will have heard of it. Just helps people get an understanding of what you are talking about.
