WHY WOULD YOU SKIP THE CREDITS?! My favourite part of any GTA game.

I remember how I used to play SA when I was still in school, usually late at night at 11pm-2am, with a little nightlight, hoping that none of my parent wake up (they both had mental issues, so it would have gone very bad).

One night I finally passed the End of the Line and was just sitting there in dim light, headphones partly on watching the names scrolling on the screen and too scared to touch the keyboard out of fear of skipping the scene. Wonderful experience.

I don't know if you're near the end of the story, but if you wanna keep the SWAT tank from the final mission, this is an easy strategy:

And here's an easy way to get a Hotknife:

Hell yeah I loved using this  armored truck during my riot playthroughs in LV until a street criminal took it and crashed it with another vehicle that was about to explode....rip :sui: Do have another one saved in a older save file.

So, how far you progressed in the story? @SonOfLiberty

I'm curious if you found more appreciation/depreciation for Tenpenny ūüėú.

Honestly? I still think he's a bit overrated.

I mean yeah Samuel L Jackson is a great actor (I've never denied that though), but I'm still not feeling him as the G.O.A.T regarding antagonists. Don't get me wrong he's certainly not the worst one as I think a couple of antagonists in GTA V qualify for that bill, but so far I've just found him somewhat of a nuisance than someone who should be feared and when I went back into San Andreas I thought maybe this was just my mind playing tricks on me, but it doesn't seem to be the case and I've been reassured I was still right with those old feelings.

That is pretty much because Tenpenny never makes threats imo. He could put CJ in jail anytime and get someone else to do his job. It is just that never says this which is a bit of a shame, would make him seem more influential. He only threatens Carl with Sweet but that's all.

The thing I like the most about Tenpenny is his reappearance in pretty much all of the parts of the story. No matter how high CJ flies in any part of the story you still have to do a couple of missions for him in each area and be reminded that despite all the advancements you still have no choice but to obey a cop because of Sweet. It's not until the mission "High Noon" that you're finally free.

I often feel like R* introduce some antagonists in their games in the beginning but forget about them in the middle of the story until you face them again in the final mission. I don't like this way of handling antagonists from R*. We even saw it with RDR2. Whereas in SA you will always be tied to Tenpenny. Because after all he is the MAIN antagonist.

That's the general idea behind Officer Tenpenny as a villain. In reality, he is a spineless coward who has not got the guts to commit real bad deeds himself, he always delegates underlings to do his dirty work (Officers Pulaski and Hernandez) - this gives even more of a reason to hate him. He was not meant to be highly feared, but more meant to be intensely disliked, and I thought he did a good job. Because you will find him extremely annoying as the game goes on, and the satisfaction of killing at the end gives you such a great feeling.

I still think I prefer that approach though. I like how the antagonists take a bit of a step back and allow other parts of the story to develop whilst still pulling the strings (aka Dimitri) as it feels far more satisfying to finally front them at the end. It's like how in some movies that convincing antagonists can still be written without much screentime.

I mean I can totally understand why someone may not like that, but I feel I'm a good way through the story to make an informed opinion on it. If anything like I said on the other page I feel stronger about Smoke's and Ryder's betrayals which as I've described in the past was something I never really cared for.

I'm more of the type of person that if I can't have something that I just want it more. That's why I wanted to tear Dimitri apart in GTA IV because the desire of the pursuit was much greater and it wouldn't have been the same if he sporadically showed up at different parts of the story. I savoured every bit of energy I could for when I finally had the chance to front him.

With Tenpenny he just feels like a a hurdle more than anything with the way he bullies CJ around. I'm trying to see what people see in him. I really am, but it's not clicking. At the very least he's a good antagonist, but I just don't see what's so great about him honestly.

I agree....

I don't really find Tennypenny to be one of the best antagonists in GTA, he does not stand out as anything special. However, I do find him to be one of the more memorable antagonists - purely because he was extremely annoying and made it his presence felt at many intervals in the game's storyline.

But like you say, I saw Big Smoke as my main antagonist because he deeply betrayed CJ.

True.

I think that if Toreno wasn't on our side he would make an amazing antagonist. The guy never really threatened CJ in a way that Tenpenny did, but the way he talks, and his monologues - man, they are scary.

Speaking of Toreno I must be very close to seeing him. I done "Jizzy" before and I remember the mission at his ranch doing that time trial in the monster truck.

I've always liked Toreno. James Woods really does a great job with his character.:^:

BTW I trialed with recording some gameplay yesterday if you guys are interested to see how I'm going like that or I can just keep posting regular updates/screenshots (when I can remember lol).

Tenpenny imo doesn’t make much sense. He’s not a scary guy, from the start of the game cj being afraid of him is augh...meh...the guy didn’t have much to do to cj, he threatens cj means he can’t take a bullet to the head? That guy shoulda made more sense.....Smoke is a better antagonist imo.

I think you are forgetting the idea behind Tennpenny as the main villain. He is in the perfect position to be very threatening to CJ and appear very fearful to him, because he's a corrupt, evil-minded cop. He is real bad criminal that hides behind a police badge - in other words he can pretty much do whatever evil deeds he wants to do to his intended victims, of which CJ was one. CJ is a known gang member and criminal, a corrupt cop like Tenpenny could frame him for a very serious crime that he did not commit and throw him in jail for decades, or even kill him and claim self-defence and no one would care at all, or even question it. How can you just casually kill someone like that ? You can't just kill a cop (even a corrupt one), expect to definitely get away with it and sleep real easy at night, the whole police force will hunt you down with the utmost vigour, the threat of that is so large and daunting that most right-thinking criminals will not even consider it. That's why it took for so much sh*t for CJ to go through in the story before he finally had enough and decided that Tenpenny had to pay, and die. Luckily for CJ, Tennpenny's evil and corrupt doings were discovered and it helped CJ get off the hook for attempting to kill him.

Actually Sweet saved CJ's a**, by preventing him from putting a bullet in Tennpenny.

Yeah dude, loads of screens and videos if you can.

Just read your comment about CJ on the last page. That's great you see him in another light. Same with Niko and I.  And with my current playthrough on IV, it's actually now one of my top 3 games.

The video I done went for about 20 minutes, but it was mostly doing "555 We Tip" and "Deconstruction" (Which I screwed up and had to do again). The PS4 has some pretty cool editing software so I might do something a little fancy.;)

I haven't got any updates as I didn't play San Andreas today, but I'm upto Woozie and Jizzy now.

A little tip I've remembered concerning an upcoming mission (which I won't spoil), you're tasked with taking out a rather important figure in Ice Cold Killa. If you go to this mission armed with a sniper rifle and shoot his getaway car six times, all you'll need to do is shoot it a few times later, cutting the chase time considerably short. If you destroy the car completely before the chase, he'll ride a Pizza Boy (Faggio) instead which is also easier.

I tried to be vague because I don't know how far you've gotten before and I don't want to ruin anything. I've probably ruined a lot more of the game with previous tips, so I don't know why I'm being coy all of a sudden, hah.

I'm not too fussed with spoilers for a 16 year old game.;)

I have done the majority of the story before (but never finished it) just not for a few years.

I'm really sorry for the double post, but I have made a video for you guys.

And I introduced a chainsaw and flower bunch to their face.

It only goes for about 4 minutes, but I just wanted to get a feel for recording. I'll probably do more of these kind of videos of messing around and even some missions so you can watch me screw up.

No such thing as a screw up when you're having a good time, it's what makes this game great. You can bounce back as quick as you're knocked down and have fun doing it.

Lmao, grate vid. SA aged like a fine wine imo for a game from '04. And the same can be said for IV and it's grate story expansions.

Ah, I forgot the last time I had fun with a chainsaw in SA! Still, I think VC's chainsaw was even more fun.

I must remember to get a chainsaw next time I'm playing SA!

I know you've never been much of a fan of the game back then and I held no grudge against that, but I am expecting your thoughts on the rewrite version of this storyline I made and completed. I won't force you to like it or anything, just want to know your opinion on it if you get the chance to read it (I'm also working on two new rewrite versions of the two games from the third era).

But yeah, it's good you're giving the game a chance these days.
