It's good, but I still prefer GTA IV's.;)

But you should find that SA's driving and handilng is very comparable to IV's in terms of realism - the vehicles actually have their unique and distinct feel.

You will like the San Fierro part a lot more when you play it again and have not played it in years. That part of the story was not as boring as I first thought it was.

They do OG, but like I said I do like the driving physics or atleast more than I did before.

BTW the next time I jump on I'll post up some screenshots. Was going to do it, but forgot to.

I played Vice City a few weeks ago and honestly they didn't feel that different. Not really a bad thing I suppose.

EDIT:

Day 52 in game and I finally made it to San Fierro.

If you fancy a little detour and you don't mind collectables, I highly recommend the snapshots. I'd use a video guide because some of them don't make sense from a photography perspective. There's a camera pick up inside Cranberry station and there's one on the grass just outside the airport where the plane is used as a prop. I say this because the weapon rewards that spawn at your Doherty garage are quite generous and it doesn't take as long as the tags, oysters or horseshoes. Plus, driving around in San Fierro can be distracting as the icons for a snapshot show up as flickering orbs which can be annoying at night. San Fierro is my favourite city, and grabbing the snapshots will get you used to the map layout.

I remember once doing the snapshots though I don’t think I finished them at all, but it was quite relaxing and enjoyable compared to most collectibles.

Unlike other collectables, I'm pretty sure you can get them all from the ground, whereas the tags and horseshoes require some climbing.

From what I remember there's something like a floating camera icon of what needs to be taken a photo of? The last time I tried this was about 10 years ago or something like that.

Yeah, they look like little glowing orbs until you look at them through a camera lens. It's a little easier to do at night.

@SonOfLiberty

You want me to be honest ?

San Andreas will be a hundred times better with mods. I urge you to get a decent gaming PC and start modding your favourite GTA games. SA with mods will guarantee replay value for decades to come and the game is MUCH more stunning. You could even play as Niko for a protagonist if you wanted to. So much great possibilities with mods.

Just as another note. I might aswell just admit it now, but CJ's a way better character than I gave him credit for. I even sucked it up with Catalina's missions when he "bitched" out to her and it didn't seem as bad with some more context.

With a clearer mind I actually felt sorry for him when he found out Smoke and Ryder betrayed him too. Kind of crazy considering how much I used to rag on him, but he seems cooler the more I play. His struggles are becoming more apparent and I'm steadily understanding the shift into the man he wants to become.

I agree.

Personally, I'm usually not into heavily modding a game, like replacing vehicles with real life ones, making the graphics and textures as "fancy" and HD as possible, etc, but more in stuff like fixing bugs/glitches and minor enhancements (like making the original time cycles somewhat less blurry, disabling the camera from automatically centering when taking cover and increasing gang hostility in GTA IV, etc).

I'm a mix of what you like and the opposite. An example is that I replaced ALL San Andreas vehicles with real-life versions dated from 1992 (the period of SA) and I edited their brand name signs to be same as the GTA vehicle brands, like Ubermacht, DeClasse, Vapid, and Pegassi.

Graphics enhancements-wise, I prefer to use those that still retain the original look of SA like SkyGfx and Project 2Dfx. I don't use those fully-blown, fancy-looking ENBs.

If you decide to do the mods - my favourite one is GTA Snow Andreas. There are multiple versions, but there is only one which is done really well. The vehicles are of a similar quality, and nothing sticks out too much, it comes with all kinds of wintery weather and sounds and literally transforms the game into something entirely different.

I'd recommend doing the mods once you finished the game though, otherwise it may start crashing half way through the mission. I usually play in in December to get me in the Christmas mood.

I took a break from doing missions to do some free roaming as I admittedly haven't done a lot of. So anyway...

I jacked this Clover from some redneck and found some creepy arse fog near Montgomery. I seriously love the creepy vibe of the countryside in this game.

I then went back San Fierro and tricked out said Clover. I done a few burglaries after running around Doherty trying to remember where the Boxville was. I also got a map for the snapshots so I'll probably start on those in the next few days.

@SonOfLiberty Since you are paying attention to the tips here, I will give you an advice.

Don't do the mission "End Of The Line" because after that you will get a serious pain in the ass watching half the credits that follow...

Entering San Fierro on a boosted Freeway via Foster Valley listening to Rod Stewart's Young turks brings a very enjoyable sensation.

That is the reason I said "HALF"...You can skip once you reach Verdant Meadows (or is it just my game)
