Using *Existing* Online Character In SP

Recommended Posts

OK before y'all start bashing I'm fully aware of skin changer and the various trainers out there that will let you edit "MP Ped" then swap it with Michael etc.

My question would be is it possible to have the Online char that I already have (and all the saved outfits etc) load into SP?

Not concerned about gameplay. The objective is to get that character into SP so graphic mods can be used to shoot in the Editor.

Been looking high and low and though there's been many mentions of people working on such mods over the years it seems to lead nowhere.

If you go into Director Mode and select your online character, you can then go into Simple Trainer and detect that character. That will give you your current online character, in the outfit you are currently wearing.

I don't think you can do much more than that.

Hi Lee, that's perfect. I do have another question though; are these online characters (basically whatever I just loaded into Director Mode) stored on the local PC somewhere?

Since my main PC is loaded with mods (and thus can't go online to change outfit), I could use a second "clean" PC to do that then copy the files over.

You can load your MP char with Simple Trainer and then save the char's customization with the Clothes menu, which includes facial features, skin color, etc.

The next time you don't need to load your MP char again; you can simply load the default freemode model and then load the customization through the Clothes menu. (That stuff gets saved in an .ini filed used by Simple Trainer, so it's in effect a local copy.)

If you use the scene director mod you can save them with scene driector and then load them everytime you use scene director. The only thing you will need to change is hair color and get it back to what it was becasue when you load them it changes their hair to green

Hi guys, thanks for the replies. I managed to find an approach that works best (for me) so just leaving it here in case others google for it.

Ended up using the clean PC to access online, changed to whatever outfit I needed, then put in just Menyoo + SHV, logged in to export outfit from player menu. This is saved as a simple xml file under /menyoostuff/outfits.

To save another outfit, remove Menyoo + SHV, log back into GTAO, change outfit from Style menu and quit. Rinse and repeat.

The problem then was after bringing these exported XMLs into the heavily modded PC, applying them to any character using Menyoo will get the clothes and gender right but something off about the face. To workaround this I just loaded Director Mode, selected Online character, the face will then be correct and you can just stay in Director Mode to continue working with Scene Director etc.

If someone has a more reliable way to export entire characters (not just outfits) feel free to suggest too.
