Bring back the billy clubbing police. All the cops in GTAV are trigger happy to the point I don't even know why Rockstar hires people to work on AI.

Like really, GTA V single player felt like they copied the code from Midnight Club LA because you would not find any cops just roaming the city. Dunno if that's been fixed but single player had no cops patrolling as far my original ps3 version.

I wouldn't mind if they brought that character back and made GTA VI a sequel to Vice City. Make him older, maybe let us play as his kids/grandkids or something. Heck, I wouldn't even mind if it was a remake of gtavc.
 

I'm sure he was a parody of different people. A little bit of Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gates and Steve Jobs as well.
 

When Lazlow left, his work on GTA VI was probably already done. All the skits, commercials, radio shows etc are recorded early in development stage. Thats why they sometimes reference places that were cut from the game.

I was pretty sure the 80's begun when Vangelis released Heaven and Hell in 1975 and ended when Nirvana released Nevermind. Therefore we can conclude that Kurt Cobain killed the 80's and vice versa.

The 80s never died , they still live in the collective minds of those who lived them and the collective minds of those who didnt live them but still love them through their music , movies and culture. Not to mention that the 80s is the decade that most commonly returns to manifest themselves from time to time in modern society and media.

R* would of been released VI If it wasn’t for GTA Online. Now we are lucky if we even get more then one game from them in the next ten years.

I'd say because I've been fairly sensible, and unlike a lot of people on reddit, I'm not constantly saying it's going to happen soon! I've been pretty vocal for almost 2 years that it would likely be announced in late 2021. I think people are just thinking "I guess he's right, then?"

Not to sound egotistical. I have no idea if I'll be right or not. I actually hope I'm wrong and it's announced sooner. 2020 should have taught everyone not to take anything for granted. I'd like to play it while I still can.

Who dat?

I wouldn't say they are in early development phase (whatever that means to you). But ever since GTA3, they always started to work on the next gta game as soon as the last one gets released (at least thats something I heard years ago). And its been 7 years since GTA V. So yeah... I would say they are at least half way there lol.  Probably much, much farther than that. 

I would say its mostly done by now. If it wasn't for gtao and covid we would probably already seen something.

Safest bet? They probably gonna announce it at least couple months after the "next gen enhanced" versions of gtav/rdr2 are out. Surly not sooner than that.

Hard to write certain things in text, can easily come off differently than you intend. I think people just need reassurance. It's nice to have something to focus on, rather than feeling like you're in the dark about things.

 

Had a bit of fun going through this old thread, over the past few days. Interesting to see what was being discussed in the months preceding RDR2's announcements. 

Might give you a thought or idea on what to expect, or what may be possible, etc. or just alleviate some boredom.

You really can't say that that is true. Videogames are taking longer and longer to develop. Most studios that release games on the scale of Rockstar have a 4 to 5 year time frame between their big releases.

 

Naughty Dog had four years between Uncharted 4 (2016) and TLOU2 (2020).

BGS had four years between Skyrim (2011) and Fallout 4 (2015), and five years later Starfield is nowhere in sight. 

CDPR have had five years between The Witcher 3 (2015) and Cyberpunk 2077 (2020).

 

Rockstar changed structure after GTAV. They're no longer Rockstar North and Rockstar San Diego, etc. They're Rockstar Games Studios (a combo of everyone). There was five years between GTAV and RDR2. It's in line with everyone else in the industry.

Was thinking, probably all you guys can agree. This is the only time of month we can hope for an announcement. After OCT, i doubt we are going to hear anything till next year this month. Some creepy type of silence with these folks, almost forget they exist.

I don't know, I find the CP 2077 type of marketing strategy with constant flow of teasers and "sneak peeks" lasting several years kinda creepy and off-putting too. (I agree, no official information about GTA 6 before the re-re-release of GTA 5)
