I re-played Watch Dogs 1 and 2 out of boredom already and also Mafia but that isn't exactly something new it's just renewed to some point...

I'm looking forward to Watch Dogs Legions cuz I like London as a city but I also don't like those futuristic elements. I'll get over it cuz it's not so much to the point I won't play it (unlike Cyberpunk, for me it's a no go unfortunately..), but oh well still doesn't hit the same way like GTA does.

We can't rule anything out + keep Project Americas in mind. 

Of course it could have been created after the PA leak but idk it's kinda refreshing after the last few months of nothingness when it comes to leaks, wether they're fake or not. At least we can get a discussion out fo them (Len please don't destroy my ass i swear to god you scouse son of a gun...).

 

Let's say it could be legit: The newest map leak looks like an updated (maybe more current) state of the map we've gotten a few months ago. Vice City and surrounding countrylands plus several islands of which two seem really big and well populated (the newest map leak has a city area that looks huuge. Though it does look like a lazy recreated, rotated version of V's San Andreas. 

Anyway alltogether it looks gigantic. And don't you guys even dare critisizing my english. I'm fluent in other languages ok? good. Love you. 'specially you @Len Lfc and @Orthur The Boah

Real or fake, the small island away from the main location is likely meant to be Nassau. Which would make sense.

It's almost identical to Nassau. Almost. It's never going to be a 1:1 match, look at any location Rockstar have recreated. Los Santos looks a lot like LA, but not identical. The Alamo Sea is north of LS, whereas IRL the Salton Sea is southeast of LA. So for me, it's very close take on Nassau, even includes Lake Killarney. The question is, is it real? I don't know. But RDR2's map leaked 6 months before that game was announced. This is a bit different, since it's been 2 months shy of 2 years, now. But it's not impossible. What I will say, is that it it looks about right, for a GTA map. Same styled island as V's Southern SA. But it's also entirely possible someone who knows what they're doing faked it, and did a very good job.

 

I hope it's fake for only one reason. It'd kill the mapping thread, once the game is announced

Worth noting that it wasn't even posted by someone claiming it to be a GTA 6 leak, just some person on /v/ posting the image with zero context, which should...kindle several thoughts before "GTA 6 leak"

True, but it's the exact same island from a leak in 2018 claiming to be GTA VI. It's just that particular image (to my knowledge) didn't exist online before it was posted last week.

What got me hooked on this story is that when it first got posted, there was a second version of it which was mostly drawn and a bit larger. To me this could perfectly be explained by the argument that the leaker actually saw all of it but could only capture parts of the map for us so they drew the rest from memory. 

 

What REEALLY got me hooked is how months later a new version of ONLY PARTS of this map leak surfaces and it looks like an updated version. As if the other one has been a very early build and this one's closer to the final thing. Just think about the rdr map leak. It was mostly the final map but with some changes. 

If, and I'm saying IF this is legit, then we're about to get the largest map we've ever gotten to date. question would be what to do with all this water area displayed. Like that's a loooot of water. I can only imagine how much work it would be to implement a living, breathing simulation of the ocean into a map. Now that we're here, let's think about Jason Schreier who said the game will be of moderate size. Now that i come to think about it, these two thoughts don't have to be mutually exlusive. Maybe the game will be large by world and map, but rather moderately sized when it comes to story. R* always has their gaming world as their real protagonist and that's long no secret. This map would be the blueprint to many online and single player DLC's. Maybe even give R* the chance to end the GTA series with a long lasting bang. A game that lives on its own.

eh the rdr2 leak wasn't exactly an auteur's magnum opus either, there can be maps for a variety of reasons so I wouldn't discount anything based on that fact alone at this point

I wouldn't say that, but judging by the build of the streets (from what one can tell) it could be around the size of Southern San Andreas as presented in V. I wonder what the name of this part of the map would be. Given that Nassau is an island with its name being based on the city in Germany with the same name. Something like Düsseldorf Island

Yeah, it could have been the first or one of the early satellite map designs? If that's the right way to put it, idk...

 

All I'd say, is after RDR2's map leaked, it IS possible. But this map is connected to A LOT of suspicious BS, after the fact. But that doesn't mean guilty by association. Someone could have leaked a legit map, and this CurryLav person took it and ran with it, trying to BS everyone.

Similar to the 'Project Americas' leak from The Know. That may have been real, but after that, so many fakes used the codename to spin a bunch of lies.

I'd have to disagree. It's just a satellite map. If you zoomed out far enough and took a picture of GTA V's satellite map with a phone, it wouldn't look great, either. People said similar things about the leaked RDR2 map, back in 2016.

Again, I wouldn't be surprised it it were real or fake. A smart faker would produce something similar. But it also fits the bill for a modern take on Vice City and surrounding areas. It's what I'd expect the map to look like.

 

Just keep it in mind, but don't plant yourself on either side of the fence about this.

What about the fact that PROJECTAMERICAS was found in RDR2's files. R* is not that stupid. Could be a tease by them. I'll call it Guerilla Marketing done by R*

Doubtful. Likely just a slip.

Same reason, though. All the mountains in V just take up space. Rockstar like to recreate locations as faithfully as possible. You could argue RDR2's map has unused space that's just hills or forests.

You're right. I guess it's the "afterworks" that bug me for this particular presumed leak.
