I can imagine Sony paying Rockstar a TON of money to make GTA 6 be a timed exclusive to compete with Microsoft. It actually isn’t too far out at this point

His quote makes it look more possible. They have a good relationship with Sony, I mean come on, they tried to make GTA IV exclusive, but now they're making GTA VI exclusive. Whether do it this or not, they have to do something to stop Xbox from running over them, it's business.

If GTA VI really is going to be a timed exclusive on PS5, they would probably announce that before the consoles release right? That would be a total obliteration by Sony and an instant win. I still think it's probably unlikely.

Business indeed. To gain a foothold in the next-gen market I can totally see Sony paying Rockstar to make GTA 6 be a timed exclusive. Again, it’s actually totally plausible

If Microsoft paid $75m for GTA IV, then Sony could negotiate a fee for some sort of GTA VI deal

GTA VI is years away though, so a timed exclusivity deal is not something they can use to quickly respond to MS.

Hear me out. What if sony paid rockstar to make gta 6 or any other rockstar game as exclusive to ps5 and announce it next month? Sony is under pressure rn so this could happen.

I can't see this happening. Announcing now a timed exclusivity deal for a game that is probably coming out in 2023 wouldn't make much sense and would reek of desperation.

I know I’m dreaming here but with the Rockstar Editor I’ve always wanted to recreate this iconic scene from Miami Vice. What if Rockstar really does do Vice City WITH its own version of a few Bahama islands to go and explore AND taking a speedboat (if you don’t feel like going by air) to them...

It’s possible. Why did Rockstar rush to announce the next gen GTA V?
They could have announced it at the September event, right?
