GTA VI ay im happy to hang up the GTA V Belt lay down arms so to speak for GTA VI "the modders destroy it for me" every single lobby. This year has slowed many many things down. Tho with the amount of money they made in V im sure this game is all ready pay for so to speak not that im saying that's an issue. Filming actors set productions, music rights, to say the least game design so forth what will this map look like ? i for 1 am hoping on a lot bigger map i know this takes a crazy amount of time to get done. i would love the grand canyon in the game, more land mountains caves again a mine even & more speed top speed in the vehicles for cars boats planes so on. So when does this 1 get an announcement ? i have zero clue to this so i hope say any time from now would be cool. GTA VI has to have an anti cheat system so no modders destroying lobby's or separate again like in GTA IV trainer lobby no trainer lobby.

 

Hype for GTA VI is still very high for me, this time around tho ill not be grabbing a hard copy of the game takes a day to install those dvd's well feels like it.

Size of the game on my pc for V is at around 90gbs if VI is double this im still fine with that, ill do an over night DL. So now that the release of the new consoles are close ish if im not mistaken some devs are given them to work with to fonder with it's tech to see there limits & get games ready for them something like this. So lets hope that this speeds up the process of what we all have been waiting on . An announcement. Keen for that day once again were we all go to R*s website to see the new Symbol.

If the announcement of GTA 6 will be made this year, then it should only happen in October (following GTA 5 and RDR 2 announcement pattern). If not, we can only wait for next year.

If GTAV isn't announced by Fall 2021 then I'd be skeptical, as if 'What the actual f*ck is going on?' but until then it's reasonable.

 

I mean come on,look at other studio's timeline, look at GoW Ragnarok's reveal. Just 2.5 years after GoW 2018 and it's slated for 2021, almost certainly to be pushed to Q1/Q2 2022, so 4 years after the previous title. What Rockstar makes takes even more time, Red Dead 2 was a significant undertaking for Rockstar and If they stated working on GTA6 by 2016-'17, it should come by 2022-'23. It makes perfect sense. And GTAV PS5 version is a stop gap and possibly being done because they had to port GTAO to next gen anyway so why not do the whole thing kinda scenario.

You can't find it because it doesn't exist, he never leaked anything about RDR2 PC (or anything else for that matter).

Mine too but it will come back when they announce it, just 1 to 2 more years of patience.

Hoping obviously that the next GTA won't be a mainly online game with the SP part as an afterthought.

Keep in mind that they only work on one series (God of War) and it's a much more linear game, by comparison, and is fully single player. Whereas Rockstar Games also work on RDR2, an open world sandbox game, with an Online service game, in addition to Grand Theft Auto Online. It's not a fair comparison, at all.

R* also used to manage multiple series in tandem with one another and still sometimes manage to put out multiple games a year. GTA itself has always had longer gaps but at least we got something to fill the silence  - nowadays it's like the company barely exists.

I think a 2022 reveal would be the worst case scenario, given that (IF) covid delayed stuff too much. It did delay things but hopefully not that far. At that point it would be better to atleast give us a logo instead of being silent for another year(if it's 2022 reveal). 

 

Also I know I'm going to be disappointed this year, but I can't control that small bit of hope.

They used to. But games got bigger, and more detailed. RDR2 is incomparable in terms of size, depth and detail to any of the PS2 GTA's. You can no longer make games like that anymore. And Rockstar simply decided to focus on their main games (GTA & RDR) and organize all their studios to work on them, instead of making smaller games in between. Yeah, I'd love more games like Max Payne and Bully. But those resources are being used to make GTA & RDR instead. It is what it is.

 

Going back to the God of War example. Presuming it gets delayed into 2022, that's a 4 year gap between games. Rockstar had a gap of 5 years between their last two games. Which, when you consider the kinds of games they make, is about right, and it's not that different. Currently, it's been less than 2 years since RDR2, we're about a month away from the 2 year anniversary. So just looking at it logically, we're still 2 or 3 years away from a new* release, from Rockstar.

 

*= Not a remaster, but a brand new game.

That's exactly why I compared them. If comparatively smaller studio takes 3-4 years to put out a mostly linear HUB world game, then Rockstar, although a much bigger company, probably would take atleast 1 or more years to put out something close to RDR2's scale.

And I'm not talking about you. I totally understand what you're saying. I'm addressing the people who are saying it's all doom and gloom at Rockstar and they should release something new sooner and not realizing what a massive effort RDR2 was which came out just 2 years ago.
