Just don't fully exclude 2021 for GTAVI announcement, anything can happen.  

I still think GTA V next-gen may have been scheduled for an earlier release, but COVID-19 may have delayed it slightly. We didn't even see any footage. A September release for GTA V, then October announcement is more than possible.

Don’t worry I’ve accepted it. Lucky for me they’ll be plenty of other great games to play in the meantime. A 2024 release is too long.

its not going to be that late still think late 2022 is possible but likely 2023 with covid . 

i do think gta 6 will be a smaller tittle with maybe just vice city similar to how gta 4 was but who knows. 

but this 2024 thing is nonsense . 

yes jason s said early development but thats does not mean  it just started development in say the last year probably means it ramped up production in 2018 after rdr 2 finished . 

and if it its a smaller tittle i expect the same gap between gta v to rdr 2 five years not the eight years rdr 2 . 

4 years between san andreas to four five between 4 and v etc

At that point it was small stuff until the marketing cycle began in around April 2013.

It's actually not that far-fetched. If gta 6 was 70% done (Tezfun) in april, we could actually get a teaser this year.

It's actually not that far-fetched. If gta 6 was 70% done (Tezfun) in april, we could actually get a teaser this year.

This could be for the December heist dlc because it actually lines up quite well with when they release.

Well at first glance, presuming it's fake. I'd wager he's banking on a reveal at The Game Awards.

I don't know if he's actually a director or mission designer. But he looks a little young, bit of a red flag. Being followed by them doesn't mean much. I know actual Rockstar/Rockstar North developers who aren't followed by Rockstar.

Looks like a fan, to me.

 

Also, he never even said anything about GTA. Just tweeted a date, and others presumed it was GTA VI

I don't really know. I trust Jason Schreier over any insider, any day. And GTA VI was considered to be early in development, as of April 2020. Which matched with my own analysis. I'd guess, anywhere from 30% - 40%

Keep in mind, the game is still years away. I believe what those insiders could have heard was misunderstood information. The game may have been 70% complete, but still had years left of QA to do, and a lot of work still left to do on the content that they had done. For example, looking at the bug log for GTA V, they had all the missions worked out as of 2011, but they were still working on them up until 2013. A lot. So that 70% may have represented the structure and framework of the game (missions, side missions, activities, general map and locations, etc). But that's just what they could have been told. key word could.

 

But the game is still years away, hasn't even been announced yet. So based on that, 30% - 40% with a little over 3 years left to go sounds about right, presuming full development bagan after RDR2 released, just under 2 years ago. Admittedly, that's more of a progress bar percentage.
