GTA 6 Speculation & Discussion [Part 4]

Bashing YouTubers and making the topic about it (or any other kind of antagonism) will net you a warning for derailing the topic.

Please use some common sense too while discussing subjects, don't delve too deep into speculating about people's personal lives (e.g. Houser departure from R*, Rockstar developers, etc.) as they deserve privacy and not a raging fan forum to make up things about them. Needless to say, any hate will be quickly nipped in the bud.

It's just, the way the guy acts when you shoot him, so realistic

Here's the thing... I'm not sure it is actually more realistic. But then, I wouldn't know. I've never unloaded a magazine from an assault rifle into a human before 😂 But, I think it looks like it's more realistic. Like how a car explodes when it crashes in movies, because it looks cool. I think RDR2 nails it in terms of gunshot reactions.

There was a video where a doctor reacted to RDR2 injuries, that video was amazing.

While RDR2 gunshot reactions are great, when you shoot someone in their leg, they die instantly(most of the time) unlike RDR1 where the NPC tries to get up. But this isn't noticible all the time. Just some nitpicking.

That's how it is for most games. It is a game, afterall. I'd like it if leg shots made people fall to the ground and crawl, if it was a kneecap or something. Or both legs. Small, but cool details.

There is a difference between cinematic realism and actual reality. We say we want more realistic games, but what we actually want is hollywood realism. Games, movies simulate what happens in real world in a carefully curated way to make it more palatable and presents it in a tidier way.

I mean, some people in here would love to see a very arcade Grand Theft Auto game with some poop humour.

Well they're working on GTA VI as they're updating RD Online. Sometimes files and assets can be left behind in the engine, or somehow just end up there. I don't know the full details, but it's possible. For example, say they're working on weather systems in GTA VI, and another developer is working on tweaking the weather in RD Online, then maybe some of the files reference something related to GTA VI. But we only know about it because it was leaked over 2 years ago. Otherwise the name wouldn't mean much to us.

That is a neat one as it's one of those few leaks that doesn't feel like too much of a coincidence if the name was at least confirmed, but I don't remember other codenames being left behind in files before. What was the codename for GTA V? Apart from vehicles I don't believe its codename was left behind in the files of any previous games. With that, I don't doubt Vice City is in the next game as it seems to only make sense, though they could very well surprise us with a totally new location. I could see the story starting on another part of the map, with us working to get to Vice City for the climax.

I'm still wondering if there's much left to find in the RDR II files? Some of it is hard to tell if it's an asset that's also part of GTA VI that's left in there or not as it's rarely explicit.

The most credible leak that to this day still blows my mind is the RDR II map leak that happened a few years ago. I was one of the many doubters until the trailers began releasing, and people paid close attention to the detail. I suppose an insider can always exist, but that threat of traceability is one not to take lightly as it wouldn't only spell the end of an employee's job, but the end of a career because few businesses will pick up someone who violated a closely-guarded secret. That's also probably why many of those jobs are specialized, only some will know parts of what's going on the game, few have the full scope apart from the higher ups, and you know it's unlikely any of them would be the leaker.

Ah that's it, thank you. I almost said Codename Agent but I knew that wouldn't make any bit of sense. Did Rush come up in any leaks or files? I know Rush was alluded to with casting calls for Albert De Silva (Michael De Santa) and other characters.

How do you know?

What guys like yourself need to understand is that Rockstar play around with ideas on a small scale before fully implementing them into games on a bigger scale. They played around with multiple protagonists in GTA IV and RDR1 before having multiple leads in GTA V - I believe they will do the same with time frames in GTA VI considering multiple time frames were present on a small scale in GTA V (2004 & 2013) and RDR2 (1899 & 1907). It's clear as day they have an interest in telling a story that spans multiple time frames.

Also RDR1 1911 & 1914. But here's the thing. In the RDR games, they were epilogues. And in GTA V, it was the prologue. In all 3 cases, it served the story. I don't think they did it for any secret future purpose, other than what was required to tell those stories.

That was the leak. Nothing found in files, though.

That song was good and I actually like it. But don't you think they would use some instrumental?, I want something like the instrumental from GTA V reveal trailer.

I think the same regarding a location in a non-English speaking country. It worked with Mexico in RDR and I think they'll now try it in a GTA (not as the main location of course).

Regarding gore and dismemberment whoever said GTA III had it best was right. VC and SA it was just head disappearance which was too cartoonish. It should be similar to 2010's RDR where peds crawl if shot in the leg, for instance.

If the VI is set in VC I kinda expect them to use a synth-wave song for a trailer

Although not made in the 80s, I would love to hear a NightStop track in a trailer. I can hear a sense of buildup in this one, with narration glorifying their time in Vice City in the 80s, and trying to relive their nostalgia by reentering the crime world.

I think its what they'll do. Modern setting (sadly) but with 80s stations and lots of modern retro-wave music to capture the 80s theme without being in the 80s.

Can anyone just make a fake leak? So i can be exited for 5 min.

Wait a few hours for tweets to appear saying that rockstar is going to announce something at gamescom, or that the presenters let people speculate to win more viewers 😂😂

I've always thought about making a fake trailer for fun. Some of the ones out there are just beautiful to watch, especially when creators acknowledge it's fan made. But this already poses the problem of it being called out as fake within that 5 minute time limit. So someday, maybe I'll collaborate and make the best fake leak you have ever seen.
