Yes and that explains why vice city was released 9 months after gta 3.

No, san Andreas was never an expansion but they did have plans for adding expansions to san Andreas with dlc's. Nothing came out of it tho

I mean, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas are based on Grand Theft Auto III, just like Episodes From Liberty City are based on Grand Theft Auto IV.

@Zello Not really, they intended VC to be an expansion of sorts (Benz told mission pack) but once things started rolling they shifted gears

Even with that thing: No way rockstar will tease Gta online update (the biggest ever as they say), Next gen relaunch version, and GTA6! No. Way. The real announcement must be only after next gen version, which s October 2021, but not this year. If rockstar will announce this year, it will kill their marketing for the standalone gta, lots of people won’t buy online game one more time and will wait for gta6. Which is still years away.

This, for me highlights the main problem most fans have. They see a GTA 6 tease in literally everything. It is impossible for them to allow themselves to think it's nothing, or completely unrelated. It's like a disease lol

Back in 2010 games could also be made in 3 years. It's funny though, ever since I posted about them scouting Hollywood in 2010, in my Analyzing the past thread, that tidbit seems to have spread around quite a bit lol

Back in April Rockstar liked this post of LeBron James

 

 

LeBron James wore #6 in Miami and #23 in both LA and Cleveland. He has also played for 3 teams and wore #23 twice so 2x3=6

 

He wore it in honor of Michael Jordan who also wore #23 when he played in Chicago. Michael Jordan won 6 championships in Chicago

 

LeBron couldn't wear #23 in Miami because Miami had already retired it in April 2003 when Michael Jordan was playing for the Wizards 6 months after Vice City released and one month before the Vice City PC release!

 

When Michael Jordan was playing for the Wizards he played in DC. Home of the US Government. Trump is in the white house right now. Dan Houser said he was happy he wasn't releasing a GTA during the age of Trump. Miami retired his jersey because they knew we wouldn't be getting GTA VI while Trump is still in office!

 

This means that GTA VI is going to take place in two cities Vice City and Carcer City confirmed!

 

 

LeBron also correctly predicted the amount of years we'd go without a new GTA it's been 7 years!!!!

 

I've also figured out the release date. GTA VI is coming on 6/23/2023!

If announced this year, GTA 5 sales will increase. The same thing happened in the Far Cry series. After Far Cry 6 was announced, sales of Far Cry games increased dramatically.

I have to admit, that with recent news or rumours, however you wish to class them, of Sony being extremely aggressive in terms of PS5 exclusivity deals. We may have to reevaluate the possibility of GTA VI having some form of exclusivity on PS5.

But GTA V taught us that GTA VI will continue to sell for literally years. Especially with Online.

GTA V made $1 billion within the first 3 days alone, well before Online even launched. As such, I can't see VI being a timed exclusive unless the wait is shorter than usual for R* (think of EFLC or the company's consistently staggered PC releases), like 1-2 months at best. I can't even imagine the amount of money Sony would have to offer for exclusivity otherwise.

 

I wonder if the 3 month PS5 exclusivity for the standalone version of GTAO is what they ended up settling on instead (if it has anything to do with this at all). Then again, R* and Sony have almost always had a close relationship, so who knows?

I do agree. But GTA V had excellent sales in the first 3 days due to it being at the very end of the generation. XSX & PS5 likely won't have the same install base, but there are more gamers in 2023, than in 2013. So the difference may not be as big. Plus GTA V is a system seller, and people will buy consoles just to play it. I can't see it being timed exclusive either. My point was mostly just about those recent quotes.

If that's true, then Sony certainly tried something with Rockstar. All I'm saying is if Rockstar know they can't/won't beat GTA V's day 1 sales (or the $1B in 3 days record), they may decide to 'have their cake and eat it'. By which I mean, take Sony's money, make a bunch of money in the first week. Make even more money a month later, or whenever the XSX version releases. And thanks to Online, continue making millions every month.

Knowing that GTA VI is not going to be sold out for the start of the new generation (which is not going to help to sell more consoles), and imagining that just for having a month of exclusivity Sony should pay a fortune, the idea does not it just seems illogical but stupid too

It's less "if it's true" and more "IF it happens". I don't doubt Sony have tried to get an exclusivity deal with Rockstar for GTA VI. They already have one for RD Online, and GTA Online. The question is what the deal will entail. Like I said, hearing those quotes makes me feel it's more of a possibility than previously thought. Before I thought it was impossible. Having thought about it for the past 18 months, and hearing those quotes, I feel Sony might be aggressive enough to -at the very least- try.

Sony already put their foot down in the ps5 event opening with the playstation boss talking about their partnership with rockstar for the ps5 like previous gens.

R* has a history of  exclusivity deals with sony:

-Rdr 2 getting online content first and photomode first on ps4.

-next gen gta online will be free for ps5 users for 3 months.

But i don't see the deals being more radical than that,Rockstar also breaks records on xbox,the amount of money sony need to pull for that deal would be obscene.

And in the small chance that gta 6 is exclusive for ps5(god help us),i wouldn't give credit for the "leakers",this was always some pie in the sky fanboy drivel that anyone could come up with,just a coincidence.

I’m so confused, Shawn fonteno (Franklin from GTA V)

literally posted the letters sgitax on his Instagram with the caption “I’ll let y’all have fun”.

 

Then he deleted it, did anyone else see this because I clearly remember reading the comments and stuff.

 

Also if your braindead or something the letters switch around to make gta six
