I'm replaying San Andreas these days and damn, I love the map assortment of that game.

So much variety.

I'd really love seeing a rendition of Nevada in the Rage Engine...

Didnt R* already model out those cities for the planned and canned SP DLC? Maybe the assets are already there and all it needs is some polish.

i really don't think so but even if they did, releasing 1 or 2 additional cities the size of Los Santos would basically give them a reason to support GTA V for another 10 years and nobody wants that lol. and they would have to make sure those new areas would be full of content and maybe even come with their own single player campaign. because otherwise what's even the point of adding empty cities with nothing to do? so to sum it up they would have to put probably as much resources into these DLCs as they would if they were making a whole new game. i want them to just upgrade the graphics a bit and focus on developing GTA 6 instead

Id like that too but I feel theyre gonna do something sort of ambitious to try and justify the pricetag and to expand GTAVs lifespan. As much as I hate it, I feel thats what they're trying to do and that we wont be seeing GTAVI for a while

 

V is their golden goose and it doesnt seem to be slowing down unfortunately

dont recall any of the DLC documents talking about SF and LV, they were all to be set within the existing map.

 

however LC was apparently in the works, VC planned too iirc?

No. The DLC was Aliens, Zombies, and a continued story DLC, all within the same map.

Alright, pure speculation incoming - 

 

Rockstar always said they treat the single player and online parts of their games separately but they sold it with their single player games anyway. If you consider their SP offerings a full $60 experience, which I'm sure almost everyone does not then online is just something extra on top of a solid SP game which you can choose whether to play or not but some people buy it online too. 

 

My best guess on why Rockstar is separating GTAO from GTAV is simple. They want to keep the GTAO bandwagon of over millions of players going, without any headache to transitioning them to the next game without doing any hard progress reset just like what Activision is doing with CoD Warzone. With each new CoD release Warzone would get a map update. Similarly with GTA6, the standalone GTAO would get a map update. Maybe all cities in a map, that's feasible for next gen. Hell, as we're talking now they're probably porting GTAO into their GTA6 engine.

 

A single player only GTA would sell 30 million copies pretty easily, even more in the long run. That's a lot of money and if they sell online separately then it's more profit plus all that sweet MT money. They can put the standalone GTAO in sale to lure players in keeping the SP full priced for as long as possible like Nintendo titled. (If they make GTAO free to play it would absolutely be a crazy move)

 

In the long run I hope separating online and SP will provide better results and we'll get games more frequently while another permanent team looks over online. Honestly that's my guess of how things will go in future. What do you think guys about it?

It is a early test build. Hopefully they fix sh*t up before it releases.  With Ashraf gone because of cheating on his wife idk what AC will look like in the future.

Early test build few months before planned release? Seriously? At this point game should be feature complete, they should be fixing bugs now. Did you saw any Rockstar game looking like disaster let's say, 3 - 4 months before release? No way it'll be released this year.

You never see that because R* never shows straight gameplay like that. This was a leak Ubisoft didn't plan on releasing that footage some dev did.

no dude because of trump and gta online cant stop being greedy c*nts gta 6 is in early development it would probably be released in 2023
