Yeah, that was an odd one imo. I think the overall improvements of the engine and the graphics somewhat helped there a lot.

You cant go into Fleeca or Bank of Liberty branches. I'm going to need proof.

SA delivered the sense of progression like no other GTA. V should've had another bigger town than Paleto in the northern side of the map with more activities. IV was supposed to have countryside too but Rockstar cut back their ambition to polish their new engine back then.

i doubt it. that's just how Rockstar is. i remember thinking for a brief moment that San Andreas was a downgrade from VC when i found out there are no hardware stores in the game. to this day i can't figure out why they decided to not include them in SA

My interpretation is they wan their games to somewhat feel different though the actual game design is similar.

Back then gamers were not as negative as they are now + internet wasn't mainstream

There's a heist in online where you rob a Fleeca branch. It's the first heist. Aside from that you can't go into banks in free roam unless you glitch yourself inside.

Yeah I think it's aged really well. The writing and story telling was really well done - which I felt got overlooked because people were too focused on the lack of things to do like parachuting and such. Theres a youtube channel thats got videos revolving around all the major characters and watching them really makes you realise how strong the writing, characters and different story arcs were. Heres a few videos from his channel:

 

 

 

 

Like I said he has videos for all the major characters so if you wanna reminisce about IV I'd defo recommend checking them out.

Yeah I already know about whatever57010, pretty fun channel that really shows how great GTA IV's story and characters were (very human characters, in depth story arcs, great antagonists, darker themes). Some of the stuff like some phone calls and optional scenarios I didn't even know.

 

Overall easily the best written GTA game. I think back then people also didn't care as much about story driven games that much (they were a rarity) so people were disappointed when they didn't get SA 2.0. At least its appreciated more now

Exactly man. That's why I said RDR2 felt like SA for 2018 to me. Arriving in Saint Denis organically via narrative progression was amazing.

Nah that's not it. I'm playing GTA V right now on my PS4 and I am inside the Fleeca bank in single player free roam .

Which one? Are you sure it's not the Pacific standard bank. I forgot about that one that's the only bank you can enter in free roam.

theres a few small fleeca banks spread around the map irrc, they all had full interiors. I always think about what their purpose was when im free roaming in online and come across one i cant go inside.

Yes, Fleeca is just beside East Ocean Highway and it's open from 8am to 20pm ingame.

You know what we need in the new game? More apartments. And give us the ability to customize them as we see fit. The framework for this is in gta online and they were also experimenting with this back in san andreas so it can work in single player. Why wouldn't it.
