Bashing YouTubers and making the topic about it (or any other kind of antagonism) will net you a warning for derailing the topic.

 

Please use some common sense too while discussing subjects, don't delve too deep into speculating about people's personal lives (e.g. Houser departure from R*, Rockstar developers, etc.) as they deserve privacy and not a raging fan forum to make up things about them. Needless to say, any hate will be quickly nipped in the bud.

The perfect GTAVI gameplay-wise to me would be 

 

✔️Bring back the over the top euphoria of IV.

✔️Find a middle ground between the driving mechanics of IV and V. 

✔️Make narrow lock on from RDR2 the new standard auto aim.

✔️Keep combat roll and leave RDR2 combat dive.

✔️Stamina bar from MP3 so you have to think more about your actions instead of spamming rolls everywhere.

Not really, they don't release numbers. The only thing you could do is watching the steam graph.

I could take it or leave it. To me the violence in GTA is played more for laughs compared to the grit of something like RDR or MP so I wouldn't be too upset if it wasn't up to that level.

Well it says steam so yeah it's PC (and only those that launch via Steam, not RGL so there's even more people)

In GTA VI we need :

 

1. BeamNG car handling and physics (not the damage physics thought)

2. Arma III weapons physics + Uncharted 4 gun sounds effects

3. RDRII + GTA San Andreas RPG elements

Yea it's not dying, it's the exact opposite. Those numbers are Steam only as well, every purchase of GTA V outside Steam gives you a RGL key.

 

RDO also hit an all time high over the holidays, despite people saying it was dying etc at the time.

Only the steam players (PC), there is also the Rockstar Launcher where it is possible to own the game aswell. So I might guess that you could 1.5x the numbers shown on steamcharts only for the PC version of the game.

Nah BeamNG handling doesn't fit at all for GTA gameplay and what do you mean by Arma III Weapon physics ?

We don't have numbers but we do know the casino update and then casino heist update both set records for the number of people online in the game on their release weeks. Also, look at money earned by R* from sharkcard sales (they've given numbers in investor updates I believe).

 

In other news, personally I thought RDR2 story was pretty poor. It was very flat all the way through - no character development or progression, just a series of jobs. There was no interconnect between the chapters and had lots of filler in the latter chapters to make it appear bigger - having to travel from one side of the map to the other to start a mission for example, lots of pointless video scenes.

 

At least in GTA you saw Franklin go from street kid to the big time with the big apartment etc, And also there was a build up to bigger and bigger jobs to the finale. RDR2 would have been much better if you cleared a rival posse/gang out of an area, gained wealth and went from say, staging a robbery on a stagecoach to ripping off the guys on the boat later on, or when you get to St Denis and go to the big party scamming the rich out of money and using it to do up the mansion etc. In the end most of it turned in to "go here, shoot at these people, now go here and shoot at a different bunch of people". I found it disapointing personally.

Arma III is considered to be the most realistic shooting game.

 

For the car handling, I have some racing games in mind, but some will find this too "arcade"

I'm with you on everything except combat rolls. That sh*t is infuriating in Online. I think RDR2 was a step in the right direction. What I've wanted them to do for a long time now is replace that mechanic with something physics based like Max Payne 3. A dive should be a risky but rewarding move; allowing you to shoot while in mid air, with a chance of accidentally bumping into a wall or some sh*t.

In the next gta game I'm sure the gore will at least be on the level of red dead redemption 2 or more realistic because they won't want to disappoint the fanbase who liked the gore(which is the majority of the fanbase)

Yeah but GTA is not supposed to be realistic and just look at RDR2, they've added this manually cock the gun yet no game has this feature and it makes the gunplay immersive,no need for realistic recoil or whatever Arma III weapons have that makes it the most REALISTIC shooter on the market

Agreed, GTA V gets too much hate on this forum. It's still a great game, even if had some flaws like dumbed down physics and weak antagonists (worst in any main GTA game tbh). I think people focus too much on the negative aspects.


But hey maybe like GTA IV, it will be appreciated more once GTA VI gets out

Yeah It can get annoying which is why I said add a stamina bar with actions like rolling draining your stamina. I wasn't a fan of the dive, last time I played RDR online I just saw dive spamming everywhere which felt even more unpredictable than rolling. To me rolling is way easier to punish but it has been a while since I've played RDRO so I might have to see how things have changed.

What we definately don't want is the horrid laggy controls of RDR2 and the awkwardness of character positioning to get the prompt to speak to an NPC / open a door or box or something. I feel that the GTA casino heist update does have elements of this, particularly when you do the setup mission where you take out a casino employee and take their security pass, the one that is in the seedy motel over by the pier with a hooker is particularly bad for this - you press the button to search the body and it can wait maybe 5-10 seconds sometimes before it plays the animation. They really need to sort both issues out so that GTA6 is fluid and responsive.

Bruh I have just entered Twitter today (I haven´t seen it a lot ot times as usually as GTAF because I have been ill the past week so I wasn´t very good to see them all the time) and I have seen that the official account of Crysis has posted a tweet like teasing a new game (they haven´t written anything since 2016). I think this could be something to make us to think a little about announcing a new game for the next year or a few years is not as crazy as we thought when we talked about the possibility of GTAVI been announced in the first part of the year with all of this stuff happening. But I still think that Rockstar is not going to announce the game in the first part of the year, just because Rockstar usually teases their new games in the second part of the year.
