You've to understand the context of the answer. It was a question about why R* didn't simply build upon GTA3's LC instead of completely re-imagining it in GTA4. It's for two completely different games, and the equivalent would be if they answer why they didn't build upon SA's LV instead of re-imagining it again for, say, GTA6. Are they really working on more of the same currently? Absolutely not, because the setting of GTA6, which they're currently building, will be a re-imagination of a new or old setting.

I guess GTA 6 would come out sometimes between 2022-2023 mainly because I think Rstar doesn't want to make the game Crossgen and would rather wait for the next-gen consoles to be in pretty much every household by then.

Probably a PS5. Maybe both, at least eventually. Can't be missing out on Horizon Forbidden West.God knows when that'll release, though. 2022? if we're lucky?

The conference was a huge disappointment if I'm honest, I didn't see anything that gave me an incentive to buy on the day of release. Of course better games will come out over the course of time but the main reason I'm going to wait is because it's inevitable they will bring out a higher spec version of the console a year or two after the initial release, like how they released PS4 Pro a year after the PS4.

Well dislike ratios are bad but not too bad for a backlash. Youtube dislikes have never done a thing though. Until it doesn't get review bombed on Steam it won't really get Rockstar's attention. And even if people throw tantrums they won't magically release GTA VI.

No offence intended, but it's views like these that highlight why people criticize people unfairly. in this case, Rockstar.

 

CD Projekt Red are no different to Rockstar, in terms of release schedules. The only major difference is CDPR still do major single player add ons to their games. Take a look at both studios release schedule, and you'll see.

Comparing the two, both studios have major releases separated by 3 to 5 years, not counting mobile games/ports. CDPR's last major game was May 2015, over 5 years ago. A longer gap than between Rockstars GTA V & RDR2. Both studios have had smaller projects in between, also. Such as Rockstars L.A. Noire remaster. You can say it's been over 7 years between GTA games, but how long will it be between The Witcher 3 & 4? 10 years? That's about the same as Rockstar. Like I've always said, too many people don't get it that RDR2 was the sequel to GTA V. They work on one major game at a time now, like other studios. Like CDPR. You shouldn't be counting how long we've waited since GTA V, for GTA VI. But instead how long we've waited for GTA VI since RDR2. And it's only been just shy of 20 months, or about a year and a half.

 

Rockstar are FAR from lazy. People are just ignorant and think they don't do anything and sit on their asses not doing anything because GTA V is still selling. Why would you form such a strong opinion on something you know almost nothing about?

Eh I expect for Cyberpunk to be awesome, but it isn't really a competition its an RPG game in its core, and by far a different game compared to GTA games.
