The cap on the top limit of vehicle speed could be much higher since everything will be able to load so fast. Just look at this for example.

It was pretty obvious rockstar was not releasing GTA 6 till 2023-2024 (Delay till 2025 is most likely knowing Rockstar) 

 

 

I called it multiple times but people wanted to believe that preacher dude

If they aren't going to give us interiors. I hope they give us Drive thru's at least.

That's pretty cool, but it seems like we're in for yet another generation of 30 FPS, which is a huge dissapointment in 2020.

Thats one thing I dread about V and specifically Online. Loading times, dang I swear Im in one race and I'm already 30 mins of gameplay with loading times up the ass like a mofo. Like! we on borrowed time, aint got f*cking time to wait.

Yup 30 Frames for sure that's always going to be the case for console gaming I think. 60FPS isn't really an eye catching selling point to the average gamer, unlike brand new shiny graphics at the expense of the frame rate lol

I wish that most console users would just drop this childish mindset already, until that happens, developers don't really have a reason to target 60fps, while on PC people are already getting used to 144FPS. It's just sad.

Ignorance is bliss I guess. It's crazy that I used to find the horrible framerates of the PS3 version of GTAIV perfectly playable at the time for example lol.

Me too, but i was a kid back then. I started out on PC with GTA San Andreas, went to the PS3 for GTA IV, RDR and V and then i went back to PC. Started to make a little bit of money thanks to summer jobs here and there so i got myself a PS4 for exclusives (honestly a waste of money because whenever i finished the newest exclusive, the console was just collecting dust for months on end), and honestly going from PC's 60FPS to the PS4's 30FPS with drops was terrible. I could not get myself trough Bloodborne because the framerates were extremely bad in it. I really started to notice the differences then. Now i have a 144Hz monitor and i cannot picture myself going to 30. Sometimes i actually envy people who don't care about framerates, because even a drop to 100 is noticable. I was thinking about getting a PS5 for exclusives again, but that was back when i thought that we'd finally move on from the 30FPS era. Guess not. What i'm hoping for now is that developers will give players the choice between 4K30FPS and 1080p60FPS, but i understand that it's probably easier to make games when you have a single performance/quality target, rather than two.  

 

I just hope that Rockstar doesn't do the delayed PC version bullsh*t again with GTA VI.

I went from console, to pc...Then back to console again, mainly out of convenience and because all my friends are on PS4 lol. I do miss how much smoother everything felt on PC though so maybe I'll jump back on.

 

Off topic: I'm really not happy with how bulky and ugly the PS5 looks.

 

It's longer and almost as wide as PS3 fat. I'm tempted to get the digital version since it's less ugly and will most likely be much cheaper lol.

 Yeah i completely understand it when someone sticks to a certain platform because they have friends on it, it's one of the reasons why i switched to PC being my main platform.

 

I'm pretty sure that they have a good reason for it looking like that, in terms of airflow and such. One of the major complaints about the PS4 is that it sounds like a jet engine.

We're going to see A LOT more immediate details such as higher res pedestrians, huge traffic density... unique textures to every area and more detailed car interiors. They could give more pedestrians items in large numbers, everyone in a crowd has a drink or phone for example. Cops with randomized names on their badges, different cops react differently and so on.

 

All kinds of stuff is possible with this new SSD technology.. because now you can speed through the City and everything will load in no time. Pop-in will become extinct from now on, thanks to this and AI upscaling technology starting to appear for background rendering.

I'm really, really hopeful for all of this happening seeing as Sam Houser (the new sole boss of GTA) has been in charge of the open world stuff all these years. I really wouldn't care if we got a short campaign but tons of detail in the open world... it's about time GTA took a big leap forward again in that area.

Yeah airflow definitely has to be a big factor. My Pro sounds like it could blow up any minute just on the start screen for Doom Eternal lol. I feel like they put the disk drive in the worst place possible as a subtle way to nudge people towards a digital only future, such an ugly placement.

 

I can't lie that would be cool as f*ck. The diskdrive being connected to the white part makes me doubt it will open and close like that though.

Yeah, i thought the same when i first saw it, but then i remembered, isn't the disk drive only used for authentification that you own the game on the PS4, like a sort of anti-piracy method? The game downloads itself anyways, the system doesn't read any data off the disc while you're playing. It's there to prevent you from installing it and then selling the disc.

True. That's how Xbone does BC anyway.

But it does look awkward and prone to breaking easily if something falls on the console or how someone is gonna open both sides if the console lies horizontally? Connecting the drive to the main body also could be cumbersome and result into some malfunction, connection issues.

But I do wanna see it happen. The reactions would be gold.

I think that it would only open the left side if it was set horizontally, but i dunno. As much as i want it to be real, it's most likely not.

Hmm I was reading up on potential DRM for PS5 and yeah you could be right. Kind of makes the decision to go digital even easier for me if I won't be able to trade in old games ontop of having to install the whole disk for ssd purposes.

 

The crazy thing is i'll probably still buy a physical copy of GTAVI just for the box and the map. I'm part of the problem aren't I? GTAVI: Enhanced, Refined, Rejuvinated, Remastered edition, coming 2057

I bought GTA V (PS3, PC) twice and i bought RDR2 (PS4, PC) twice. As much as i hate them for forcing us to double dip, i still do it. 

    

Here's a great video about the issue with the re-release and it sums up my thoughts perfectly. They could still do the whole "Expanded and Enhanced" thing properly. Add Liberty City and fix V's quirks like all the stuff that they have downgraded while going from IV (car damage, physics, details and much, much more). They could rework the game's base code (because i honestly think that they don't want to work on code made for 2005 hardware anymore). Hell, they might be doing it since the re-release is still a literal year away.

We're all guilty of doing it for sure. Bought it on PS3, then sold it along with my PS3 when I swithced to PS4. Bought the PS4 edition, gave a friend my copy when I got burnt out on GTAO...Bought the premium online edition when I realised GTAVI was a looong way away lol

As much as i am defending rockstar with gta 5 remaster, i wish they released a different game. Maybe they could have released a smaller gta game similar to chinatown wars for nintendo switch. That would have kept everyone happy and engaged for a year or two. Not a remaster of 8 year old game.

A GTA V stories type of game could have worked tbh

 

Give me Taliana Martinez or a game based around any of the heist crew members. You reuse the V map and add some stuff to it. Not that hard. Use your V save for some of the heist choices in the game but only If it takes place during/after V.

 

 

A 2004 North Yankton Prequel game. R* designed that North Yankton map for the V Prologue might as well use it and expand upon it. It could explore what led Michael to set up his deal with the FIB maybe we see when Michael first meets Dave, Setting up heists with the other old crew members, along with Trevor and Brad's relationship what did Brad really mean to Trevor? It could end with setting up the heist in the prologue in V with the crew getting ready to enter the bank and then the credits roll. My only thing against that game is that R* never reuses protagonists. They could make Brad the Protagonist but I didn't find him that interesting.
